Yeah the new point system doesn't count anything other than what's listed (BIOL 1406, A&P I & II, Micro, PSYCH 2301 & 2314), so it wouldn't include Comp & Statistics. If you can, try to take A&P I and Micro in the summer, or A&P II & Micro in the fall - it's manageable to take 2 together! I think there will be more honors in the years to come, but it might still be early to see that many applicants with honors courses, so I think your chances would be good!

For the PSB, the main issue is TIME - you should practice speed reading for the reading/comprehension, spelling, etc parts b/c there is hardly any time to get thru the questions! I think on some of them I answered only HALF the questions - crazy! So be prepared for a major time crunch. For the math, it's easy - again, just try to work quickly; spelling was actually tougher than I expected, but not sure what you can do to prepare for that - the words were so random. For the natural sciences, from what I remember there was a lot of biology, some earth stuff and some chemical/electrical stuff - but focus on biology and you should be ok. There are some websites that have free practice questions, so focus on the topics and not the PSB itself for those. I had a 4.0 going into the program, all A's in all the prereq's. I don't know if it's impossible to get in w/o A's, but with the new point system, I would aim for A's if you can!

You would have to take both A&P I and A&P II (or A&P I and Micro) over the summer in order to be eligible to apply (then take the remaining pre-req in the fall) - which is doable b/c that's what I did! They give you a couple weeks extension on the deadline to get all your summer grades turned in (but everything else has to be submitted). But you would have to take the PSB before the deadline - sign up soon (spots fill up kinda fast sometimes) & start reviewing! I took the PSB before I had taken any A&P or Micro and got all 6pts. Also, I saw the email today about the uniforms....yay for NAVY pants!!!!!!! :) Do we need to order any of the supplies available from Meridy's too or just the uniforms?

Hi there! I can't answer your questions about the tsi stuff but the pre-req's aren't too bad and should take you less than a year. I had a previous degree so at least a few classes I had already taken counted toward the pre-reqs. You can just sign up and take them like regular classes. Applying to the ADN program is completely separate. Besides that, the psb is the entrance exam required and while I thought the content wasn't too hard, the short time limits were very nerve wracking!! So just be prepared to speed read lol. If you search "Collin College ADN" on allnurses, you'll find the thread about applying for spring 2015 that helps break down the new point system so that might be helpful to look thru too. I got mine done yesterday. I was told a blue card would come in the mail (?). I guess we have to send that into the CC Nursing Dept right?

Mine is scheduled for Oct 29 - I'm sure we'll be fine! I have no idea how long it takes, but I think they just didn't want people waiting until last minute.

FYI I was able to get into the Identogo website today to schedule my fingerprinting.

Anyone else get in for Spring 2015? I wonder when we'll find out info about registering for classes and clinicals, or if that's what we'll find out at the mtg in Nov. Do we have to do anything else until then besides vaccine stuff if needed?

Got my acceptance letter today! So excited! I really had to work my butt off to make this happen! Guess I will see y'all in Nov! Here are my stats for anyone curious: 29pts, missing the honors pts & 1pt for not having taking A&P II yet (taking it now), 4.0 in all classes (except for Biology, which I took a long time ago with an A, but used CLEP score for the point), 6 points on PSB, non-resident & no classes taken at Collin (but Texas resident), previous magna cum laude BS degree (totally unrelated in Computer Science), no fluff sent in with my application besides my personal statement.

Congrats ladies! Michelle, I also had 29pts - which ones were you missing? Curious to see how mine stacks up. I didn't get any letter today, but I also am not in the DFW area - fingers crossed for good news on Mon! So nervous now!

I just spoke with the nursing department today and they said they would mail out letters either this week or beginning of next week at the latest! Fingers crossed :)

Not sure on the # of applicants, but she did seem to think that no one would have the 4pts for honors classes yet, so 30 might be the highest possible # of pts for Spring 2015 applicants.
