For those of you who use the ACA Form 2 "Camper-Healthcare recommendations bt Licensed Medical Personnel", how do you use it? Does the nursefill out the form or does the PCP? Much of the info is a review of Form 1- do you keep them together or use Form 2 in a Kardex type system? If you are walking around camp and you carry a bag of supplies, do you carry camper info with you- in a camp where you have another provider in the health room? ie- do you make and carry duplicates or cards of some type? Do you chart then or when you return to the health room? Thanks!

And I don't know Boy Scout camps, lol Girl Scout camps often have a program season- this is the 8 weeks I'll be attending. Any girls registered as Girl Scouts may attend as individuals. Many are troop members during the school year or year round, others have no troop affiliation, they just like to attend camp. So, like most camps, there are young counselors guiding them through programs centered in the week's general theme. Only staff as the adults. So I will be responsible for all meds. Big Al, since you work in PA, can you point me in the right direction to find our state regulations on med administration at camp? I'll be meeting with a program director of a sister camp who us also an emt and has info for me but I like to be prepared! I just didn't find what I wanted as I was digging around online but I don't know where to look- RN practice act, EMS, camp standards, etc. I don't mind doing my own homework, but where?

I guess I'll introduce myself here- I just joined, just for this group. I'm a per-diem MICU nurse with a work history of acute care pediatrics and pedi private duty. I'm also a girl scout leader. So I'll be giving camp nursing a try this year at a local girl scout camp. It will be myself and an EMT. She'll be living in, I'm about 30 minutes away. We'll both be there for the full 8 week season. We're both new to this...so...deep breath... Next weekend is my camp's open house. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone- potential campers and staff alike. Hoping for a glimpse at my health room, too! I know it can be reserved by camping troops in the off-season so I'm not sure if I can check it out. looking forward to everyone's tips and wisdom!
