2014 camp work thread
I will be working in Fayette, Maine. Androrn, what types of injuries do you find you deal with most at an all boys camp and are there certain species I should watch out for in Maine...certain spiders, etc? Glad to have someone not far away!

Thank you so much big al lpn! I also do not use social media to say anything that I would not want the world to be able to see. I will for sure be messaging you! I sure appreciate you reaching out! I am a psych nurse but also teach First Aid, etc. for the American Red Cross and of course have been refreshing on all of my skills I don't use as much now that I work in psych. I don't think that at this point I will have enough time to do an EMT class as I will be working a lot up until I leave which will be June 13th. I love to have resources at my fingertips but saw just how many apps were available for my Android and became a bit overwhelmed. I also just ordered a book on camp nursing which I have seen camp nurses mention in the threads. Thank you again for reaching out!! Now I just have to figure out how to private message you

Thank you for the advice :) I have always carried insurance. It was one of the first things I learned in nursing school.

Veteran camp nurses...what have you found to be the best quick go to resources while at camp? Also, what phone apps have you found most helpful for a quick first aid and medicine reference?

2014 camp work thread
This will be my first year as a camp nurse. I will be working at a boy's camp in Maine. The camp will have approx. 160 campers and 60 staff members. I am a psych nurse so have been busy refreshing my knowledge in other areas. I am grateful for the opportunity!
