  1. I still haven't had Financial aid reach out to me yet. Were you able to login into pirate net? I received a username and password but it doesn't work. And did you hear anything about class registration? By the way, if you would rather email or text let me know! I just think it would be easier than using this forum.
  2. Oh okay, I'm in the same situation, still waiting on an acceptance letter and especially financial aid information. I don't know anyone else in this program, but I do know its a pretty small group of only 30 students. It would be nice to connect with everyone before we start. It seems like the one year cohort was pretty active on here, but I'm not seeing anything from the two year program.
  3. Awesome! I'm also attending. I received the phone call that I'm off the waiting list, and made my deposit, but I'm still waiting on my letter. Did you receive anything about orientation or any other information?
  4. Anyone here attending the second degree in south orange?
  5. @alyssaparadiso Congrats on your acceptance!! Do you mind sharing your admission stats? Thanks, and good luck!
  6. Is anyone still waiting to hear back??
  7. Does anyone have any prerequisite courses pending? Do you have the chemistry requirement complete? And where did you take the required ethics course?
  8. Congrats to all those admitted! For those of you who have been accepted to the 22 month program in South Orange, do you mind posting your stats? That's the one I've applied to, but yet to hear anything. Thanks! :)
  9. Has anyone heard back if they've been accepted or not? I thought we were supposed to hear in the beginning of April.
  10. @alexis_brickcity How are you liking Bloomfield's nursing program?
  11. are you guys referring to the two year second degree bsn, or the one in lakewood?
  12. @steph14, no problem! They said to keep in mind that NursingCas takes 6-8 weeks for processing, however, as long as we're within the deadline of June 1st, its not an issue when we apply. There is no rolling admissions, so they won't start reviewing applications until after the deadline. I believe they said we would hear during the month of June, but it wasn't specified exactly when. Are you applying to any other programs? @marty02 , I defintely have similar issues. I had to refrain from applying to schools that begin in May, as I won't hear back from Rutgers until almost July, basically. It sucks, but hopefully it will be worth it when we get in! (:
  13. They basically had power point slides up and went over the information on the website. We did have a question and answer session directly afterwards where they gave us the opportunity to ask any questions we had about the program. There wasn't really anything that stood out to me that wasn't already mentioned on the site, which I already went over on my own time. The program is actually 16 months in length, and not 14 like the Rutgers site states. They also mentioned that many of the clinicals will be in central Jersey. I also have to send transcripts from many schools. I'm trying to get everything with NursingCas done early because I heard it takes a while to process. I also have yet to finalize my references. Are you applying to any other schools in the area?
  14. Hey @nadia89 , thanks so much for updating this thread! I'm applying to the Rutgers ABSN program this year (Newark). I have been searching a lot of previous threads and they all mention the program is disorganized; would you be able to provide more details on this? Also, I know its a full time program, but is it possible at all to work? Secondly, how were the instructors; were they generally supportive? Thanks in advance!
  15. Hey everyone, I just attended the Rutgers ABSN information session this past Monday. It seems there were a couple of people applying for this upcoming fall (2016), including myself, and it was suggested that we connect! I'm applying to both campuses but hope to get into Newark at the very least since its a closer commute for me. I'm just starting the NursingCas application. Who else is applying for this upcoming fall? Submit Your Rutgers University Review Today!Tell us what you think of Rutgers University.
  16. @lacerti , I was also considering applying to the Columbia MDE program; there's an ongoing thread with more information about that program that I've been posting in. However, I haven't really had enough time to prepare for the GRE, and that's what's really making me think twice. Another aspect is the price (so expensive!), and the fact that it is in the city ( I would be commuting from Passaic county). I might just apply and see what happens, though. Another option I'm considering as of late is Seton Hall's direct entry master's program. I was actually not interested in this program initially because you graduate as a Clinical Nurse Leader, and not a specialized NP. I assumed this position was totally different from the realm of advanced practice nursing. However, I contacted admissions and discovered that upon graduating, you do get to sit for the NCLEX, have the option of working as an RN for experience, and then sort of branch out to the CNL role, which is apparently like a nurse case manager of some sort ( I need to research the role more). It's a full time 2-3 year master's program, and the deadline isn't until mid spring, so this is another option I'm considering.
  17. Hey @laceri Just out of curiosity, which instant decision days are you planning on attending? I looked around for those in the northern Jersey area, but I wasn't able to find any for ABSN programs. Thanks!
  18. @mimi0914 and @ite16 Thanks again for chiming in and answering questions, guys! It's much appreciated í ½í¸Š. - I was also wondering if most students form study groups together, or is it mostly individual study ? - also, how do you think this program compares to other ABSN programs in the area (FDU, Seton Hall, Caldwell, Felician, etc)? I know Rutgers is a good school, but Im applying to several programs and wanted hear some opinions.
  19. @Ite16 i have so many questions, haha. -How is the program going so far? I know you said its a lot of information, but do you feel the workload is manageable? How is the school faculty and instructors, and is the program organized? If you're in the Newark campus, is it true you sometimes have to travel down south for clinicals? Lastly, would you mind sharing your admission stats/GPA/healthcare experience? And that's all the ques I can think of for now☺️ Thanks so much!
  20. I'm also applying to this school as a back up in case I don't get into my top choice. I haven't really heard much about Rutgers absn in terms of reviews, but I guess that could mean there isn't really anything bad to say about it. What do everyone's stats look like?
  21. I'm also applying for Fall 2016! I know that the admissions process is pretty selective, especially for the Fall cohort, as opposed to the spring. hopefully past applicants or current students can chime in. What do everyone's stats look like?
  22. Assuming we got accepted, how does everyone plan on supporting themselves while in the program? I know the program itself is covered through loans, but how about housing, food, etc? ? It may seem like an obvious question, but I worked throughout all 4 years of college and managed to pay some of it off while going full time, so it makes me nervous knowing I will not be able to work for at least 15 months.
  23. @skoli51886 Thanks! I just sent you an e-mail.
  24. Hey @ SBCvixen, I'll be attending the one on the 25th; the info session on the 14th was already closed out when I tried to register.
  25. I actually took (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for developmental psych; he kept it pretty interesting and made me want to go to my 8AM class! I did all my prerequisite courses at PCCC, and it has been easier, especially for the science. However, I heard mixed reviews about the nursing program. Did you attend the RN program at PCCC, or did you end up going else where?
