  1. Okay, gotcha.. which unit are you on again? How have you liked it so far? (:
  2. Does anyone know if we, as new grads, go M-F the first week or two after orientation?
  3. Boooo So you have to get one of those options?
  4. Has anyone heard of how difficult it will be to get good/reasonable parking?
  5. I had heard that it's to see if you have good body mechanics and things of that nature.. for example, someone told me that you have to pick up different weighted sandbags during one part of the test... so I'm assuming that it's just to be sure that you are physically capable for performing general nursing duties (?)
  6. Okay, gotcha! Yea when I shadowed there were a lot of GSW patients there and some cardiac patients so it sounds like there will be a nice variety. Yes! I'm from NC, went to UNC for my first degree.. then went back for nursing at a school in VA. So I'm a little familiar with the area but things have blossomed so much since I was here in 2013 lol...Glad to be back!!
  7. Yes!! Indeed! It's been tough watching my colleagues start and having to wait until September lol - can't wait to meet you all too! I wonder what type of patient population we will mostly have?
  8. Nice!! I'm the 18th (:
  9. Yayy! (: You're the first person I've met that's going to be working on that floor too! I'm excited that it's a new unit! Can't wait to meet you as well! When do you start in Sept. again?
  10. In my offer letter, it said just to dress casually; scrubs are not necessary.
  11. I was hired onto 3200 (: But the manager informed me that I could possibly "float" to 2200 if need be... Yes, I found the staff pretty friendly as well. I think it's going to be a good floor to start on!
  12. Usually it takes about 24-48hrs in NC
  13. I didn't really check my status online so I can't say. I got offered an interview with UNC but turned it down due to already accepting Duke's offer ...
  14. Nice! I think it will become more real for me once I pass the NCLEX lol
  15. Okay, thanks! I figured that they would make us work both days and nights before we could pick one or the other.
  16. Did anyone during you all's interview process say what the scheduling would be like? The manager for my unit never really said ...
  17. I know Wilmington (New Hanover) starts new grads at $22.11/hr not sure on differentials ...
  18. Okay! Makes sense! (:
  19. Nice! I'm jelly lol .. I don't start until Sept.
  20. In state as well! When do you start? I mentioned earlier how I felt like my start date was really late lol
  21. That's great! (: Are you coming from out of state?
  22. Awesome!! Which unit? (:
  23. I know eek! But that's plenty of time to move and enjoy my summer lol. I'll be on the surgical step down unit (:
  24. Oh okay! My start date is in September. I thought that was kind of odd lol ...
  25. If you don't mind me asking, what date did they say you would be starting?
