  1. Dear Nurse84, I have been in home care for 3 years and I really enjoy it!! I like the one on one interaction and the pace is slower. You do not have to answer another call bell while you are concentrating on your client. You get to know your client and their family. I have also worked 6 years at a nursing home, while I was doing the home care. Check the agencies in the area and ask if you can speak to a few nurses who work for them. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
  2. Dear Belinda, I graduated in August 2001 and went to work in a nursing home. I enjoy working with the elderly residents!!! They are very interesting!!! I also work in home care, through an agency. I enjoy the one on one interaction. I wish you continued success in your schoolwork and renenber to take time to have some fun!!!! Peachy2
  3. Congratulations!!!! I know you are excited to start school!! Is your program a 1 year program from 8am-330pm? That was my schedule for a year. We were in the classroom for at least a month or two before we started at a nursing home for a clinical rotation. I came to school dressed nice but casual, they will let you know what you might need to purchase on your first day of class. I did not have a part time job because I thought of school as my full time job. They said if we did work to just work on the weekends.I studied about 3 hrs a night(approx) and I enjoyed my LPN school. Let us know if we can help you further and enjoy!!!!!!
  4. Dear Everyone, Thanks so much for your replies!!! I did take the prednisone for a week and hopefully it helped. I did check out the sites and put them in my Favorites section. I hopefully will be rid of this in a few weeks!!! Thanks again!!!
  5. I recently developed Bell's Palsy because of a tick bite that I found on myself in May. I did not get the bulls-eye but I developed a high fever and started on an antibiotic. The right side of my face has gotten weaker and I cannot close my right eye. At night, I have to tape it shut since I do not want to scratch my cornea. Has anybody else been through this? I have 11 more days of my antibiotic and I hope to return to work soon. Thanks for any hints or thoughts on this subject.:
