  1. Thanks for your quick feedback! Well I'm not completely sure I want to switch nursing so I need the next few months to plan everything and think it over. I also need to get some exposure to the healthcare setting maybe through volunteering at a hospital or shadowing a nurse. As of now, I don't want to completely ditch the work I've put into getting a BS in Econ, so I probably won't want to apply to an ADN program at a community college. I already have my general ed requirements finished so it is the science prereqs I'd have to worry about. I'm thinking of finishing up my current degree since I'm lucky enough to get a good amount of financial aid while but also doing the nursing prereqs at a local CC during the next 2-3 summers. Then maybe apply to an accelerated BSN program or a direct entry MSN program. Not completely sure though as I need to talk to an advisor and research the possible routes I could take. So in short, I'm still contemplating whether or not I should finish up my current bachelors and then do an accelerated BSN or direct entry MSN so any insight on these programs would be appreciated!
  2. Hi, I'm currently an econ/business major at UC school, but thinking about doing nursing. I've always wanted to work in healthcare but was really undecided so I went with econ but I'm now realizing that nursing would probably be a better fit. I just can't see myself working in business. Anyways, I'm about to finish my 2nd year and am wondering if it is too late to switch to nursing. I have all my GEs finished, but I doubt any of my classes would transfer except for maybe calculus and one quarter of gen. chemistry... My school (like most UCs) doesn't offer a nursing program... So is it best to just finish up my bachelor's in econ or change schools? If I do decide to do nursing, I would want to eventually get an advanced degree and hopefully become an NP.
