  1. Hi, we have the same case. Were you able to get your ATT having said that you have reapplied thru their online site? Your reply is deeply appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I was wondering if you have passed considering that you were charged $200 after doing the PVT.
  3. Thanks cherrybee. This Saturday, I would send my application. Goodluck to the both of us!
  4. Hi, This may sound like a dumb question but pls bare with me as I am new to the LVN process. My question is, where can I get a postcard (55A-7). It says on the instruction to "Write your name and address on the post card provided. Make sure to place a postage stamp on the postcard to receive verification that your application was received by Board. ( Note: Not applicable for applications downloaded from the internet) FYI: i have downloaded my application form from the net. Does this mean, I dont need to have this post card? another question is, did you send your application thru UPS? Thanks
  5. Thanks. Hoping you can share your thoughts in my question below. :)
  6. Oh I see. Question though, Can I still apply for any other positions I like in other facility eventhough I was already sent for a background check by a company? Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. Appreciated it much :)
  7. So I went for an interview as a Resident Assistant. The interview went well. It was so quick and I was then right on the spot was offered with the job. She presented me the summary of duties and the salary, got my id and gave forms to me so I could get my drug test and live scan for free to be processed to the nearby facility. The nursing administrator told me to keep 9/22/2014 free as this would be the orientation day. However told me that she would call me since background check might take sometime. She also oriented that with uniform, i could wear any scrubs i like and tennis shoes. After leaving, I have signed papers citing salary, job duties. Does this mean am I hired or Im just still a candidate since she said she'll call me back?
  8. Thanks for the reply. Today, I will apply as a Resident Assistant in an Assisted Living Facility. I'm hoping they could get me. :)
  9. True. That is why I havent filed yet. As soon as I get a job and somehow save for the schooling, that's when I'll apply.
  10. Every Filipino nurses or grad were subjected to take additional classes for ob/med because of concurrency issue and for those who are challenging LVN as a leeway, some were asked to take pharmacology classes to complete the 54hrs requirement. You were right to say that foreign nurses have high chances too to be hired (atleast for me, it almost happened, just that I have no license) I think it just really takes perseverance to apply in person than online) For Phlebotomy, I need to be certified or licensed and be trained by the state. I've digged holes and did a lot of research but it seems that I really need to go back to school or get whatever low paying job so I can afford to get licensed here. Im applying as a caregiver in a long term facility here in San Diego and hoping they can accomodate me.
  11. True, I just realized, everyone wants or makes anything for a living. I have researched some though, they assist you for career option and if there's an opening on their agency they'll prioritize you for possible position. Sad thing is, this is mostly in Business industry, not health care....Thanks for your reply though. I appreciate it...
  12. It is really frustrating to find a job UNLICENSED. I feel like I'm making myself feel so down applying in a Nursing facility where I already know I'd be "REJECTED". Some of you might think that that's the dummest thing to do, appliyng in a position which you're never qualified and unlicensed. Yes, I applied as a Nursing Assistant with my BSN knowing that they would require me to present a CNA License. I took risks and feeling so ashame as I might be tagged as someone who doesn't know how to comprehend what "REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS" means. Like I said, I just took risks, wanting to be called, hear what they got to say. I have that attitude where I don't care if I would be rejected. All I know is I need them to insist and open my mind that I really need to take a licensure exam. I was just shocked that 90% of the applications I've turned in have called and asked me for an interview and later on was asked to present CNA License. Right on the phone I told them that I have no license yet and they told me to get it and call them back. I was so shy to ask if there's any other job open as I can't even afford to pay the CNA class/exam in a coimmunity college. As soon as I hang up the phone, I sobbed and cry out of sadness and happiness. Sadness because I was so coward to ask or atleast grab the chance and ask politely if there's any other job open that does not require license and on the other hand I am happy because I know that a lot are applying yet I was called and was given some advice and encouragement to take my licensure and call them back for an interview. I've been here in San Diego for 9 months now and it has been a struggle. Right now, I'm seeking any job just so I can save a little and pay the LVN application fee and prepare myself because I think, they might require me to take classes to sit for LVN exam eventhough I am a BSN graduate and a nurse in the Philippines. Is this true? Oh well, this happened to someone I know who took LVN CA exam. I think in my past thread, I have mentioned that I am an immigrant Nurse from the Philippines. People here might be tired reading threads from a Philippine grad or RN asking the same question, "What should I do, I was declined from taking NCLEX in CA". Believe me, I followed those threads as well as those who seek advice with their LVN Application. It was sad that Philippine RN or Grad have to undego the process of getting additional classes just to sit on NCLEX and as well as in LVN application too but who are we to even compalin right? Anyways, just to top it all, is there anyone here who knows a job in a health care facility that I can apply for? Or a place here in San Diego you know I could apply with my BSN degree. A position which will not require nursing license. I don't mind being a helper, aide, etc. Also, do you need to have a license as a caregiver here in San Diego? Oh well, I just need to start earning and get my license. I hope someone can share their knowledge. Thank You! I have never applied for NCLEX as I already know that I would be declined and will be deemed to take some classes which I cannot afford yet.
  13. just curious, were you able to take your LVN now or perhaps the RN exam?
  14. Do you know a free agency who can help me find a job here in San Diego area? I am on the process of filing my LVN exam and I need some money to pay off the application and at the same time get some healthcare experience. I have a BLS AHA certification, BSN holder but with no existing RN license or CNA license in California. I've been trying so hard to find jobs online but of no luck. Hope you can share what agencies or facilities you know who can cater a entry level foreign BSN graduate. I don't mind working in a senior home, hospital, clinic, etc. Thanks and hoping that someone can share their thoughts :)
