Duke MSN 2018
Hey guys, did anyone else get this email... they basically said I was accepted into MSN but DNP was under review. But it was very oddly worded. And their was no congrats in the email so I was very confused haha.

Duke MSN 2018
I applied to Columbia and University of Washington and was accepted to both. Both are not online. I am leaning towards UW because it is the cheapest.

Duke MSN 2018
I am surprised Duke is the last to announce. The other two schools have already sent out acceptances and they had a much later application date haha.

Duke MSN 2018
Does anyone know if they notify us via email or in the actual mail? I keep checking the portal but it just shows my applicaiton so I'm not even sure if that's the way to check.

University of Washington (UW) DNP Fall 2018
I guess I will be checking my actual mail box then! haha The more info I'm getting from other programs, the more and more I'm liking the financial situation of UW. It just seems the most reasonable of all of them.

Columbia Post-RN DNP Program
Hello everyone. I was accepted into the AG-PCNP. I too am worried about cost of attendance. I didn't realize I was supposed to apply for FAFSA back in December so I did not do that. I'm waiting on another school and then I will make a decision. Does anyone know how big the cohorts are for the different specialties? I know the cost of attendance is $1930 per credit but I couldn't find a curriculum breakdown of the amount of credits for the program. I'm guessing we still have to pay for the last year when we do the residency since we are technically still enrolled (even though we are getting paid)?

Columbia BSN to DNP Summer 18
Hello, did anyone apply for Columbia's BSN to DNP Summer 2018 Program? I was just accepted to the Adult-Gerontology DNP and I couldn't find any threads. Just curious if anyone is out there haha.

University of Washington (UW) DNP Fall 2018
Does anyone know if we have to apply for any scholarships prior to getting admitted? Just wondering because Duke requires that.

Duke MSN 2018
They didn't ask anything like that, unfortunately. They are all questions about "talk about a time when" so I would just start thinking about some clinical examples you have had at the bedside. I think as long as you have something to respond with that's what mainly matters. The person who interviewed me said she hadn't ever seen my resume.

University of Washington (UW) DNP Fall 2018
Hello everyone, I applied to the UW AGNP-PC BSN to DNP program for Fall 2018. I also applied to Duke and Columbia. UW is my first choice. I am living in Texas so it will be a big move for me. Anxiously awaiting to hear back! Good luck to everyone!

Duke MSN 2018
Hello everyone, I applied for the AGNP-PC Program. I had my interview today on Skype. I was a little thrown off by the fact the person interviewing was someone who had never viewed my resume or application. All of the interview questions were situational and "tell me about an experience when" which were defnitely more difficult to come up with. I feel so-so about it. I feel like I have had better interviews. I was able to come up with an example for all of them but I wish the questions were more geared towards my experience and background. Anyways, we will see. Good luck to everyone!

Columbia University Post BSN DNP
Hello, I graduated nursing school this past May in Texas and I currently work in Houston. I am also interested in that program at Columbia but the Primary Care Adult Gerontology DNP. I visited the campus back in May and talked to an admissions counselor. He told me that they don't require experience and they take new grads. I would assume that you would have had to have graduated before applying because they need to see your BSN degree before they can review accepting you into a doctoral program. I want to say the program begins in June and applications open the Fall before. If you graduate in Spring, you probably cannot apply until the following Fall. Which kind of sucks because that means you would have an entire year of not doing anything. I would urge you to consider working as an RN for 2 years, applying after your first year, because the experience is invaluable. The experience will give you a one-up on most applicants and only make you a better NP, especially because you want to work in acute care. I have no idea about the prereqs question. I know they want you to send all of your transcripts from any secondary school and statistics just needs to be a B and taken within the last 5 years. You also need a GRE. I do think the biggest part of the application is the essay portion. The admissions counselor told me that and I have also heard from others.

UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 14
I can't believe they extended the decision! So annoying. I'm starting to be concerned about the supplemental being sent out to everyone that met "minimum requirements" like 2.5 gpa and 75 teas. The email said they weren't done "scoring," which means they didn't do any "scoring" before and they probably just eliminated the people that didn't meet those requirements. I was hoping that getting the supplemental was given to most people they really wanted and it was just the background check that needed to be done. Unless the scoring was for the essays, but that's only like 1% of the decision. AHHHHHHH! I just really wanted to think we had a good advantage with the supplemental. Also, are we all getting the email on Monday? Or are some of us getting accepted now?

UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)
Hey guys. I was just going to say I have not received anything besides my transcript evaluation and online I still have a yellow triangle. I called about it and the lady told me it will be incomplete until my last transcript at the end of the school year is in. It just seems kind of weird that it says incomplete because of that and wouldn't that mean everyone's is essentially "incomplete." Also, If I get accepted will the yellow triangle actually turn into a check mark? Did y'all receive any emails besides the one saying you will know by April 15th, before the acceptance/denial email?

UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 14
Hello everyone. I am yet another stalker of this page that decided to make an account. I currently attend UTSA so I have lived in San Antonio ever since I graduated high school and went off to college. (Aug. 2012) I really had my heart set on UTHSCSA and still do but I'm starting to consider UT Houston. I am going to graduate school to become an NP and I just want to pick the best school that will help me get accepted. I know UT Houston is associated with MD Anderson, one of the best hospitals in the world, but I know UTHSCSA is also an awesome school. Does anyone know which one might look better for grad school or if it really won't make much of a difference? I also was going to ask, I have heard people from previous semesters say getting the supplemental means your like 90% in as long as you pass the background check. Is that what y'all are thinking as well?

UTMB FALL 2014
Hey everyone. I am yet another stalker of all of these Nursing Threads. I just was wondering if this was the last round of interviews and the last of who they are accepting, besides wait list. I had an interview this past Tuesday and I haven't received an update on any decision. I think it went well though.
