  1. Okay, thank you. I graduate in December and have made a reminder to apply in October. Theres not much forums to see how it goes. Theres only 60 beds so I was wondering what positions do they have for new grads. Do you even get to pick your preferred unit?
  2. Hey, did you hear anything? I am looking to apply for residency in Decemeber.
  3. Well as someone on the inside one the ICU floors I will tell you that the ICU manager is hard to talk to In person as well. I asked my recruiter is there a way to be evaluated by the ICU manager as an extern to help solidify my residency and she basically said that would be a “bad idea” to even communicate with her. Since when is it ever a bad idea to be evaluated? Soooooo I empathize with you. Not sure if this is just COVID madness or everyday madness. Good luck on the next cohort though! Interview for step down ICU too next if you didn’t because uase they are the same manager and a lot of people on step down are being transferred to ICU.
  4. LOL yeah I saw. See you tomorrow!
  5. Did you hear anything about Wednesday?
  6. ---------- DIrect HR Line ?
  7. If you call Grady and ask for HR they will transfer you. A lot of their emails ask not to share information at the bottom of the message. Sorry about that ? I applied Feb 4th, scheduled for interview Feb 26 and had the interview on March 18th. Accepted job offer March 31st. Just so you know though, next time, the recommendation letters are needed at the interview, not the application. You turn it in the interview and then they read it there. Give them a call definitely and ask for HR!
  8. aah man, see this is why I give my professors a fake deadline. I think your best bet is to call HR. ---------- I'm thinking is for when you are already hired. If you call HR, you should ask for the clinical recruiter, I believe. They are working on orientation, new grads and coronavirus so its pretty hectic right now but they are still hiring according to the site. But if you have ----------'s contact, you must have heard something?
  9. It seems it will be PRN so it’s a mixture. PRN is suppose to be when you are available but you must work the minimum hour requirements. But with everything going on I’m not sure how it would be and depending on the availability of the unit they grant you. And that’s cool! I was suppose to attend brenua but unfortunately I was young and and dumb and didn’t want to move so far from my boyfriend at the time haha. cheers though! ? what an awesome profession. You might be interested in nurse education later with that background.
  10. CONGRATS!! So you are a teacher? I was debating between June 1st or Monday becuse I didn’t apply with April in mind to work. But I think it’ll be a great learning experience and once in a lifetime opportunity to work during a pandemic. I hope we all get to know each other! We won’t know our unit until April 13th.
  11. So simple! Buy a very cute one that is pleasing to your eye to help you stay consistent with writing in it :). With the syllabus in front of you, map out exactly when you want to do your reading and your assignments. Make it your mission to cross those things off the planner. If something happens that keeps you from completing a task of the day, write next to it what is was that held you back to help ease your anxiety and guilt about not getting it done as planned. (Side note: it would also help you visualize what you do through out your day that should possibly be eliminated to prioritize your studies.) I love the online class because when you actually read the book, going to class becomes less essential and more supplemental. Which is major key in my opinion. Since we are online, I get more sleep, can be more relaxed with my planner and actually eat breakfast ?. When you come in May, we will still be online until the end of June. I will be honest and say chamberlain of atl is not as fun as the other schools, the campus is under construction, we sometimes have flooding and sometimes it is very hard to reach someone and address issues. BUT it does no good to complain, just pay attention, do your work, graduate and feel awesome about it. ? Don’t want to make you feel unwelcome just being honest about our “issues”. I hope you do well and enjoy your time at chamberlain. You gotta make the best of it.
  12. It should take you two years. I don’t personally find it hard but others may disagree. I think if you have ever taken a Summer class and did well, then these classes will be fine. I have never made anything lower than an 89 over all grade. I simply bought a planner, read the book ahead of class, listen in class, go home and reread the material then read ahead again before the next class. The only semester that was intense was medsurg and pharmacology together. But again, I still managed to make 90 and above. Those classes were so intense that they have already separated those classes by the time you get there. Since that was done, and assuming you have a good work ethic, it should be a breeze. ? words of encouragement. Let me know if you have any more questions.
  13. I have not taken more than two classes at a time my entire time here. But I also took prerequisites already somewhere else.
  14. I’ve never heard that before... but the Human Resources emailed me today about updating my offer so I’m regards today you guys, they are still doing multiple interviews and reviews. So much so that I can no longer email her and was advised to text her because she may not see the email. So they probably have a lot to consider here. I say if you didn’t get the email don’t be too worried. On a positive note it could be that they absolutely consider you Or don’t have anything bad to say. On a negative note of course there may be some that they absolutely do not consider. Is there no update on your status? Pre-employment was busy and there’s a lot of nurses from staffing agencies. Unfortunately Coronavirus has made this whole situation foreign. Nurse externs are suppose to be in the Summer and I start next Monday so everything is weird.
  15. Nope no clue. I asked and she said it’s based off needs after orientation. Did she telL you?
