  1. My school is 14.6% male. I realize that's a little bit higher than average, but it's a Christian school, and nursing is looked at very positively because of how much service and compassion it requires.
  2. My mom was extremely supportive, and still is. My dad still won't tell people what I'm majoring in, and I'm a sophomore, almost a junior in nursing school lol. He knows that I eventually am considering doing Nurse Anesthetist, so when people ask what I'm doing he says "Anesthesia." Or he tells them "Medicine," or "Medical classes." He pretends like it doesn't bother him, but I've never once in my life heard him say that I was majoring in nursing. He goes out of his way to make sure not to say that actually. I've also gotten from a couple people at my Church, the typical "huh, couldn't make it into medical school huh?"
