  1. AG1121, I believe once you accept your seat at one of the schools, your name is removed from the other list to give others a chance. I also, applied to both and accepted my seat at SSC/UCF. This is just what I've been told. Hope that helps :)
  2. Congrats! Join our Facebook group!
  3. I know that they contacted some of the alternates today ( I saw on FB). Good luck ! Don't give up! I have heard of students finding out a couple weeks before the program started that they got in.
  4. I got in as well!!!! Excited to meet everyone! Congrats
  5. No interviews. UCF basic program usually holds interviews, but they were canceled this year. Good luck! hopefully everyone gets good news tomorrow!
  6. I am not sure. If I were to guess I'd say around 200 applicants. But, don't forget some of the applicants got into UCF's Basic and Accelerated program :) Also, I have heard a lot of people turn in the application and do not even quailfy to apply! Long story short...don't let the number of applicants scare you! If you have the GPA, TEAS score, and a little faith you will be just fine. I know everyone has been looking forward for this day of acceptance to come forever. Just remember: you've worked hard for it and you deserve it! Best of luck and hope to meet everyone soon!
  7. I am happy wherever I end up! Good luck to all! I keep hearing that SSC/UCF finds out on Friday?
  8. I applied to the Valencia/UCF concurrent program for the fall as well!
  9. Good question joyful...I wonder when the UCF Basic program applicants that were accepted have to claim their seats by?
  10. On a side note for some encouragement for everyone...Whoever applied to the UCF Basic program has heard back and almost everyone I know that applied got in! Which is great news for us concurrent students. Less applications now! In turn, the percentage of chances to get in to the program just got higher! :)
  11. mrhoades, I think that you have a great chance of getting into the program! Welcome to the forum and the roller coaster ride as we all wait! Best of luck!
  12. I bet we will hear back in the next couple of weeks!
  13. Yes, same thing... We will see! Now we all wait :)
  14. Great stats! I think you have a great chance of getting into either program. Goodluck and hope to meet you in one of the programs!
  15. Ali, Did you drop yours off at the Oviedo campus? If so, that's great to know! 31 is a low number. I think Altamonte Campus (main nursing campus) had low 100's and Sanford/Lake Mary I haven't heard anything.
  16. I think they are just behind this year...Hopefully, that's the case. Did anyone else apply to the SSC/UCF concurrent program?
  17. Positive thoughts!
  18. I think they send us the list once accepted to the program. I know they want us to have the basic ones MMR and Hep B series (the ones that you submitted to be accepted to UCF) and annual ones like the flu and TB test. Also, varicella(2 doses) and Tdap(good for 10 years) are needed to be able to participate in clinicals. Hope that helps.
  19. Background(drug test, fingerprinting)- I'm guessing around $100-125 uniforms- I guess it's how many tops and bottoms you buy etc - $200 and up immunizations- I know some shots are expensive (hopefully everyone has insurance) Books- $200-500 depending if you barrow, rent or buy tuition- I have no idea maybe $1500-2000 Again, these are estimates... Hopefully I'm close! Start saving! That's what I'm doing :)
  20. The UCF basic program background check is $99 through the company certified profile. SSC uses a different company. If you are in the concurrent program then you use SSC's company ( I don't know the name of it ) if you know anyone currently in the program you may be able to find out. I'm guessing around the same price as UCF. It just sucks that some of us have to pay twice! You would think that the finger printing would transfer over. I have to say though... I've been warned about having to spend a lot of money in the beginning :/
  21. Thanks Lizzy10! I've heard about the science GPA calculation, I wish SSC would take a separate science GPA into consideration as well. 80 applications at the Oviedo campus is a lot! Maybe all of the UCF students waiting to hear back from the Basic program applied as well? I also wonder if the concurrent program will let us who have already had our LiveScan background done use it so we (UCF students) don't have to pay twice?
  22. Those are awesome stats too! Good job on the GPA! So far it sounds like everyone on here is in good shape and hopefully we will all get in together! Btw, what is recalculated GPA? Like overall GPA or pre req GPA? And yes, I've heard that GPA comes first, then TEAS...but that was from another student not a primary source :)
  23. Awesome stats! I think you have a great chance! I'm not sure which gpa they look at? The pre reqs? Or overall? For the SSC pre req (the one from the actual SSC application), I have a 3.5 GPA, 91 on the TEAS, and finished classes fall 2013.
