  1. I started in the June session this past summer. One thing I will say about the program is it is VERY disorganized. They constantly change our schedules around, teachers don't show up to classes or clinicals, and the administration is just a mess! There are probably only a handful of teachers and staff who try to help as much as possible. This program really teaches you to study and learn on your own. The send out informal, last minute announcements and expect the students to leap backwards to meet deadlines. I know many students who work while in the program, they go through hell with their work because of the constant changing of schedules in the program. According to CCC Medical Department, we are supposed to be moving to Malcolm X starting next year. Apparently, this will be postponing the RN classes to start at a later date. Most of us are in for the RN completion also. We are just hoping there will be some positive changes happening when we move to Malcolm X's campus. Sorry for the horror story, but I am just being honest.
  2. Hey chica.... I and some other students created a group on FB for all of us attending right now. That way we can keep each other updated on everything going on. Feel free to add us and join our discussion. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1415922468674850/
  3. I agree! Looking at the orientation date as well as the deadlines to submit paperwork is giving me a headache... We have less than 3 weeks to have our medical forms filled out. And they still don't have an answer as to when the registration dates are. How do you know which schedule you will be attending? I submitted my application with "Day Schedule"... I'm assuming it'll be 9-3pm?
  4. I created a new topic for the students that will be attending this summer... Join here: https://allnurses.com/illinois-nursing/hpvec-wright-college-921357.html#post7889399
  5. Hi... I received my acceptance email today for the Summer LPN program. Is there anyone else joining me??? I signed up for the day classes. Let's keep each other updated and I will be seeing you at orientation May 28th... -Lara
  6. Got my acceptance email today!!! I can't wait to start. I signed up for the day classes I called last Friday wondering whats going on since I hadn't received anything. I was told they have 3 lists... one with accepted applicants, a denial list, and an alternate list. You would have either received an acceptance or denial letter by now and if not, you will be an alternate. When accepted students choose to not attend, someone on the alternate list will take their place. They will continue to do this until about May 8th and all the slots should be filled by then. Hoping to see everyone at orientation May 28th!
  7. johnny_... The advisor told me 50... 25 for day classes, 25 for nights and weekends.... I chose day classes. Maybe I should have just put "It doesn't matter."
  8. OMGosh!!! I'm so worried.. I gave them a call after I saw you received your acceptance letter. They said they only sent a couple of them out today and will continue tomorrow and possibly Monday. That's great that you were one of their top picks!!! I'm so nervous. I've been back and forth retaking all of my science classes because they were too old for almost all nursing programs. I really hope I get accepted. Good luck to you too Johnny!!! I hope we all get in... BTW @ achung412... Did you sign up for the day program or nights and weekends?
  9. Thanks Johnny_... Did you also apply? If so, what was your GPA and TEAs score??? As of today, still haven't heard from them. Left a message with the advisor also.
  10. Did anyone get any acceptance letters yet?
  11. I called this morning for application status... The application acceptance letters will be sent out this week!!!! Lets continue to keep each other updated!!! I really hope I am accepted!!! :-)
  12. Hey Ash318! Nice to hear from another person who has applied. If you don't mind me asking, what was your TEAS score and GPA? I'm so worried about my low GPA. :-( And yes! They also told me that they are "backed up" and will be sending them out after spring break. UGH! Another week!!!! So, I assume on or after 4/21. Let's keep each other updated!!! :-)
  13. Avilarulz.... Yes, you do have to do their LPN program before the nursing. It's a bridge program. I would suggest you start studying the TEAs test early on. And try to maintain As & Bs in all your prereqs.
  14. Ugh! Just called them to check on any updates regarding the application. They will be delaying the acceptance letters until after Spring Break. They are making me so nervous and the program hasn't even started!!!! UGH!
  15. Todays April 11th!!! Ahhhh!!! Has anyone received anything?
