  1. Just wondering... Are there any pre-class assignments posted on Blackboard for 3115? I probably won't be registered on Monday 😭
  2. I hope everyone has a happy new year! I am faxing in my immunization form today. Hopefully I will be registered by Monday but if not, I fully intend on still going to class! There is only 1 section for that Monday class (NUR3115) so I look forward to meeting you all there :)
  3. Oh poo! Well... let's try to enjoy our last days of freedom! If you're in Florida you know the weather is still great :) If not, you can look forward to great weather!
  4. Thanks. I'm going to fax the form today but I have a feeling I won't be registered til Jan 2 :'(
  5. I received an email from Juliet this morning at 9am saying I have a hold because of the immunizations and now the offices are all closed for the holidays. Well that was a big help...
  6. Coach- wow that is worrisome! I'm surprised they wouldn't work more with you. I would suggest talking to her supervisor/manager, if you haven't already. Also, talk to someone with authority in the nursing school. Explain the situation and work with them on a solution. I will pray for you & your family in this situation! Keep us updated.
  7. To add what Serendipity said- you can compare the course of study document Dr. France emailed you with the departmental course schedule (located below self service link in myfau) to see possible class times. Some classes have only 1 section so with a reasonable degree of certainty you could estimate your schedule. Hope that helps ?
  8. Jessielb98- I completed it, though someone mentioned we don't have to. It was easy for me because I work in an office with a notary.
  9. Thatguy777- I wholeheartedly agree!!
  10. Pipmunk- I wish you well in your future endeavors! Good luck!
  11. Thatguy777- mail it to Colleen at FAU. She is very understanding. I would suggest you scan it & email her a copy and tell her it's in the mail on the way to her and ask if she will accept it given you just now found out about this requirement. I think you will be fine.
  12. Just received an email from Colleen regarding the VECHS form. Yup, going to FAU tomorrow :) Serendipity- the cards are at the front desk in the CoN building. Not sure what room number that is but it's the room to the right after you walk through the main entrance. About 1 month left of vacation/freedom before nursing school! I'm excited!
  13. Maggiemae- wow thanks for the tip. I had no idea... It wasn't mentioned anywhere else. However, I think if other documents we submitted were approved/accepted, then they are ok. Colleen is the one reviewing everything on CP so if it's already accepted I think we can be assured it's ok and not worry about it. That other form though... Whoops. Guess I'm taking a trip to FAU tomorrow!
  14. Maggiemaex313- what?? I've never seen this! Where did you get this? I guess we email it to Colleen?
  15. Byesuah- so I kinda looked into that but it seems that you have to register for orientation and I think I'm not technically a student there (preliminary acceptance) so I got an error when I tried. That was just me poking around myfau. I don't know if you asked because you want to do it, because I would like to, but maybe when it gets closer we'll be able to register. Otherwise, I don't think it's a requirement.
  16. Byesuah- certified profile explained to me when I called. I also googled "2 step TB test" and the first result explains it well. CVS or Walgreens may be the best option given their flexible hours!
  17. Debblasko- like the other person said, we need two. You can read about why, but in short, there is a small chance in some people that you would get a false negative so two skin tests are necessary if you don't get a blood test or chest X-ray. Heads up for some people who need TB tests: CVS minute clinic charges $28 for TB testing and $28 to read it (total $56) and they don't accept insurance. Walgreens clinic charges $28 total for the skin TB test, and you can try to use your insurance. These might be good alternatives given the holiday coming up. CVS and Walgreens are open on the weekends too. I did one TB with my doctor and will do the second with Walgreens because of the time crunch.
  18. Apaskova: did you get a titer for chicken pox and submitted something for that? I would guess you need more documentation from your doctor or lab you got the titer done with. Alternatively, do you have any records that show you had chicken pox (from your pediatric physician)? I produced a document from 1993 showing my doctor had recorded that I had chicken pox and it was accepted. Also, call the Certified Profile people. They have been very helpful with all of my questions. But don't stress because all we need to do is some paperwork and get some shots then we're in :)
  19. Do you guys think we'll get to have this too? ? http://www.bocaratontribune.com/bocaratonnews/2014/11/faus-college-of-nursing-celebrates-first-ever-white-coat-ceremony/
  20. How did everyone complete their immunizations? Did you go to your doctor and get a bunch of forms from them to upload into the system?
  21. The designation is updated with certifiedprofile.com! We can now select the Spring 2015 option and continue on with our requirements :)
  22. mim10- ok I will post when she says it changes! Also -- I am attending the BLS course this Friday 4-7pm. Anyone else going to be there? Bring $30 cash to pay for the course :)
  23. I went in to complete the profile for the background check (on certifiedprofile.com) and there is an option for "classification," but no Spring 2015 option. I emailed on Friday and was told it would be fixed. Not fixed yet... did anyone else complete this already and if so, what classification did you choose?
  24. I'm in!! Congrats everyone!! I was in tears I am so happy :) :)
  25. Thatguy777 - I did not get that email. Someone else said it's 2 months from today that we start classes and that was a big shocker to me! I didn't think of it like that! Now I'm nervous even thinking, if I'm accepted, how I will have no life soon! Good luck everyone -- I know we are all very qualified, they must have a difficult decision right now. But what is meant to be will be and if it's not FAU then something better is in store for us :)
