  1. I'll make a facebook group! Feel free to join if you'll be starting the FNP at SBU this Summer ? https://www.facebook.com/groups/921409362469350/
  2. Hey! My name is Alex ? Looking forward to start this journey with you guys!
  3. Hey all! ? My name is Alex. I've been a nurse for 5 years with experience in Adult Med-Surg, Postpartum/Antepartum, and Neonatal/Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care. I am planning to continue my education as an NP, particularly FNP. However, I'm seeking some advice regarding choosing a specialty. I'm not entirely certain what field of healthcare I want to end up in, which is why I initially chose FNP. If I do FNP, is that limiting? Or is it the best option with the most opportunity. As an FNP, does the opportunity exist to specialize later? Thanks so much for your input! ☺️
  4. Hey everyone! My name is Alex. I am graduating from Binghamton University's accelerated nursing program this May (2016). I am originally from Long Island, but I understand that the job market on LI/NYC is very competitive, especially for new grads. I am hoping to land a job in the Albany area, preferably Albany Medical Center. Does anyone know when the 'best time' to apply is? I was going to get started now! Also, on the AMC website, there are only 1-2 postings that say "new grads welcome to apply." Are those the only positions I should I apply for? Would a new grad have a shot for the jobs which say "experience preferred?" Is it assumed that new grads won't start working until after they pass the NCLEX-RN exam? I will probably take it in July, so my start date would be July/August. Also, if anyone has any advice for a new grand to get her first job, it would be appreciated! Thank you in advance, everyone. I am very excited to join the nursing community! PS: Happy Valentine's Day!!!
  5. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! I am trying to make a Facebook group for the 2015-16 BAT class, so we can all get to know each other a bit before May :) However, I don't know anyone who is in the program, and to start a group, I need at least one other person haha. If you are a 2015-2016 BAT student who would like to be in the group, find me on facebook! My name is Alex Livernoche (https://www.facebook.com/alex.livernoche.5) and I will set up the group :) Can't wait to meet you all :)
  6. Hi Everyone!! I was recently accepted to Bing last week, and I am so excited to get started :) Like some others here, I am also from Long Island and I'm finishing up at Stony Brook now. The program begins May 26, right? (My birthday!!) haha, I just wanted to clarify. Also, where does everyone intend on living? I'm looking at apartment complexes and rentals this weekend -Alexandra
  7. Hey guys! Congratulations to everyone who got accepted :) For those who found out yesterday, did you also get your e-mail in the evening? And was it sent to your Stony Brook e-mail? Thanks!
