  1. Littlemissfit, a couple of the NTPers, who are at COT right now, have told us they are heading to Tampa before going to their follow-on assignments. I don't have orders yet, so I'm unsure about my locations.
  2. I was literally LOLing with your "just kidding" comment! AWESOME-SAUCE
  3. It's for everyone! Even COT studs who aren't NTPers who have questions, if y'all want... I just had to pick a simple name.
  4. Okay, FB group info: USAF NTP FY16 (not that it's just for NTPers). For now, the settings are: Closed - anyone can see the group and its members, but only members can see posts. It can always be made more restrictive later, if y'all want. Any member can add/approve another member.
  5. kminak, PM me your info and we'll see if we can get this group rolling!
  6. Hey All! In order to create a group (regardless of privacy setting) I have to choose one of my "friends" to add. Any guinea pigs willing to volunteer to help get this started? Let me know and I'll friend request you from my personal page.
  7. I'll see if I can set something up then... not exactly sure how to create a closed group - yet! And, I have to ask then... have you ever had Davis Cafe's hotcakes???? I about cried they were so tasty!
  8. Is anyone else interested in having a 'closed' FB group to bounce questions around regarding COT/NTP/general info?
  9. Wow, COT is going to be in your backyard! No, I actually traveled 3 hrs to get to MEPS and have since PCSed to the Midwest with my spouse. That would have been cool though! I think you will find that the staff there pushes you through faster (and separately) than the enlisted recruits (I'm prior "E", so it was very strange for me...lol). It was fairly laid-back. Good luck!
  10. For me, not bad (which was a bit surprising). I went through Montgomery MEPS. Where will you process?
  11. Congratulations Musclesmascara! While I can't directly answer your question regarding $$ (each person will be different because of family situation, COT date/uniform requirements, etc.), there is a lot of good information found on this link: Inbound COT Trainees and more specifically, here: Inbound COT Trainees
  12. I leave in January and commissioned Aug 25. This was my first time applying, but I'm not sure what you mean by "scroll"...
  13. I have friends who were stationed there (not RNs) who had AMAZING experiences. ENJOY!
  14. My LOA stated Hurlburt Field...which probably means Eglin since they are neighbors. It also said next to the assignment "could change due to military spouse status" - so, it's really anybody's guess! :)
  15. Good info, Jfratian - thank you. I was looking at the timeline to make sure that the accession bonus wouldn't interfere with the NC-ISP (if it is still available). It appears to me that about the time the ADSC (for accepting the bonus) is over, or 1 year remaining, an individual who commissioned via NTP would be getting to the stage in their career where he/she would have the requirements met to apply for ISP. My recruiter made it sound like it was a "choose one" situation, but I don't think he was taking into account that the ISP requires certification...which due to the clinical hours required, would probably take a couple of years to achieve (???). He told me that I could apply for ISP once I finished NTP. After reading the source document, I'm learning that is not the case. Let me be clear, the bonus is not my end-game or driving factor. However, if one is available, I'd like to have accurate information regarding it/them.
  16. Does anyone happen to know the Active Duty Service Commitment (ADSC) incurred from NTP?
  17. Camo-angel, I was told in early Jan that the Accession Bonus was no longer an option as of EOM Jan 2015. I'm not sure if that's the one to which you are referring.
  18. Kminak, I haven't seen anything in writing yet...but I was just told I start 11 JAN as well.
  19. Musclesmascara... that is BRUTAL! I hope you find out something soon!
  20. Littlemissfit, honestly I can't remember them performing the visual field exam! The morning really was a blur, and I remember the color/depth/acuity testing... but that's all I remember regarding eye exams.
  21. Also, as far as "fail" items... here is the regulation that is used for medical clearance (see link below...not sure if it's the most updated, but this version incorporates changes from 2011). I found it supremely helpful to review items pertinent to my own medical history (peace of mind). If you do peruse it, don't let it make you more nervous! In the military we like to say, "there are waivers for everything." :) http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/613003p.pdf
  22. Hey All! Congrats to the other selects! I actually had to clear MEPS already so let me know if you have any specific questions. It's really just a thorough H&P with hearing and eyesight testing (including color/depth perception) as well as an interview. Be prepared for labs (urine/blood) and a bunch of movement/flexibility tests (duck walk! lol)...oh, and more fingerprinting! :)
  23. Congratulations Katherine! I initially said October 2015 (start of fiscal year) but later asked my recruiter for January or March (it doesn't matter to me...just hoping to avoid Maxwell in the summer! lol).
  24. Congrats Kminak! I'm so thankful that I had no idea the results were out early... I was blissfully unaware until I got the call!
  25. My recruiter called me two hours ago... I WAS SELECTED!!! Good luck to the rest of the applicants! Still no assignment info/commissioning dates yet... TBD.
