  1. I'm so sorry @ceecoxy. I'm in the same boat re: family... my mom has been going through some serious health issues and I've been putting off moving home to be with her in case I got in. The way that they have handled this is truly unprofessional and disrespectful. I just keep thinking back to the informational session last summer when they joked about how they couldn't believe how they got that far down on the wait list because "who wouldn't want to go to UCLA?". After this experience, I'm willing to bet that the answer is "a lot of people".
  2. Thank you for your feedback @nursing_student100! It's always appreciated to hear from current students who are enjoying the program and have valuable insight to share on the process. I certainly don't mean to criticize anyone and very much appreciate how much that the admission staff has on their hands. After all, they are balancing not just this one program, but several. I've had great conversations and interactions with everyone I've spoken with there, but recognize that they are definitely understaffed. Still, it's disappointing that they never once notified applicants of a delay or provided any kind of an update as the past 7 weeks have dragged on. The best things are worth waiting for, whether we end up at UCLA or elsewhere. I'm super excited for everyone who got in and wish you the best with the remainder of the program!!
  3. My page now says "You should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application". I'm expecting a rejection letter via snail mail. At this point, a lot of the sting of not getting in is dulled by how unbelievably poorly that all of this has been handled. I'm a firm believer that what's meant to be will be, and I believe I'm meant to attend a program that treats its applicants with respect and consideration. I wish all of you the best!!
  4. Somebody applying for an MSN just posted on their thread that they just got an acceptance email from -----------. That group started hearing a few days ago and looks like the acceptances are still coming... this is good news :)
  5. There isn't a way to know who has what pile, and I don't think it's based on who has emailed you in the past. I've had emails from both ---------- and -------------- during this process and don't think it's related to their responsibilities as far as notifications go. It's obviously a guessing game at this point, but between my communication with the professor and also two other applicants having heard from ----------- as recently as today that they are still in the process of finalizing applications, I have hope they aren't completely finished with acceptances. Also, wait lists haven't begun to be announced, and I am willing to bet that because this year we are hearing so much later than in the past that more people will commit to other programs that they have already been accepted to. All we can do is sit tight and hold onto some hope!
  6. I have kept in touch with a professor at UCLA Extension from one of my prerequisites, and he said that while he doesn't know about nursing, with other schools at UCLA, various staff members are responsible for getting back to different piles of applicants. It sounds like everyone so far has heard from RF, but perhaps that's because she finished her pile sooner than others? Just a thought...
  7. I'm going to go with my username here and do my best to keep my chin up! Like many others I have been following this for a long time and am just excited that we are finally in the process of finding out. I know it's tough, but at least the end of all of this waiting is finally in sight! Best of luck to all of you!
