Being the new person on a unit is not easy. I think you did a great job by self-reflecting and identifying how this situation made you feel. I recommend you taking this self-reflection and store it in your memory bank. Keep self-reflecting and identifying your emotions as you experience them and you will be a stronger nurse at the end of the day. Being emotionally intelligent goes a long way in staying resilient to burn out/fatigue. If you bring a complaint your manager, have a solution to your problem. I wish you good luck on your orientation. We have a very fun and exciting career.

So, I was in a similar position as you when I was living in Chicago. I had a little bit of a tough time in school initially and finished strong. I ended up applying to the University of Colorado hospital and I got accepted the day after I moved here. If you want something bad enough, you'll figure out a way to convey your sincerity and get where you want to be. You'll never know until you try.

If it's going to be near the deadline I would just explain the situation to DORA and see what they can do. I literally had to email them and call them to get my ATT. Don't be surprised if your license expires this year either.

2 weeks. Dora is terribly slow. You just call them to kick it in gear.

UCH Denver. I had my interview last Monday.

The staff told me they will start notifying people by Tuesday at the earliest.

UCH told me they would get back to me next week. Did they say anything to you in regards of notification? How did you feel after the interview?

So I passed the NCLEX in 75 questions solely using UWORLD. I honestly do not care if I passed in 265 questions, as long as I passed the first time. I did all 1790 questions in the 2 weeks and I thoroughly went over all the rationale. I felt at ease on the NCLEX because it felt like I was using UWORLD. My scores ranged from 58-74% on my tests. When I did UWORLD I only used the timed test mode, because it will resemble the NCLEX as much as it possibly can. Plus I realized if I went over rationale after each question, by the time I got to 75 questions my brain was already exhausted. For all future nurses taking the NCLEX, take a breath before you start the exam and know that you deserve to be sitting in front of that computer. Wel I just walked out for the testing center for the NCLEX! I'm staying positive and may try the reregistering trick. How did everyone else do? Test **** off in 75 questions. Not sure what to think.

I like VATI during school, but my coach was having me doing a lot of finding answers to vague questions that I didn't find helpful. My average is mid 60s for UWORLD, but scoring in the 70s now. I'm confident that I am as prepared as one can be. I'm almost done with UWORLD qbank and I've enjoyed my studying time. But, now it's time to test. Thanks for the confidence booste!

I haven't really posted much on here, but this has been one special week leading up before I take the NCLEX. I wake up at 0600, make breakfast and get straight to studying. I did ATI in Capstone as it was part of curriculum. But, since graduation I've only used UWORLD. I'm taking 3 tests at 75 questions each per day. I'm just glad that I signed up 3 weeks post graduation and did not wait a century. How did everyone feel after you walked out of the testing center? P.s. Thanks for letting me vent.

So what I have been doing is looking at all of the job posts on my school portal and I am applying to everything that doesn't require me to have the license right now. So my recommendation is that if they don't require the license to apply then apply. I'm also really focusing on the NCLEX since that will be a show stopper if I don't pass that. Good luck to you! I applied to the ER and progressive medical/surgical. I'm also from out of state (Chicago). I just signed my lease for next month too! I'm pretty excited about the move. My fiancee just sent me out to find an apartment last weekend and I found a spot right in Lodo.

I also applied to UCH Denver. What units did you all apply for? That was quite the application process for this program, but I'm pretty eager to be a potential candidate. I hope we find out about the interviews soon!
