I'm doing on campus classes. I have a three day schedule, some people have a two day schedule meaning they have skills and lecture on the same day. What questions did you have? As far as the text, you'll benefit from getting a head start on the first readings because the first test is over many chapters and it can be a little overwhelming getting started. I wouldn't go nuts though, because you may have a hard time recognizing what's important, what to study, etc until you get to lecture. Personally, I would spend my time finding a calendar and planner system that I liked, making sure I had my supplies in order, and noting every single due date on your calendar as soon as you get your CIDs.

How exciting you guys! Im a current Foundations student. The group we formed here on AN led to a Facebook group which has been invaluable in getting started. If you have any questions, please let me know! The application process can be confusing and overwhelming at times, for sure.

More background check info went out today, for those not on FB... No one can seem to access it though because it says our names aren't in there yet. Hopefully it'll be fixed in the next few days.

It does seem like there's so few of us! Maybe people are waiting for more information. I'm sure as more info comes in, there will be more questions, topics of discussion, etc. I kind of dig our small group though. :)

I thought class was street clothes? I can see where skills lab might be scrubs though... I guess we'll find out! I'm not buying anything quite yet anyways. :)

They just need the patches on them, that you can buy at the bookstore closer to the start of the semester I think. Personally I love Grey's Anatomy brand. They're super soft and hold their color so much better than other brands. They're a little pricey, but well worth the investment, especially since we only have clinical one day a week (I'm pretty sure?) and you can get away with one pair for now.

I opted out of hybrid. I'm in online classes now, and feel the procrastination sneaking up. I also love the classroom environment, and the instant feedback from the professor and other students. I think hybrid would be a good option for those who have time constraints (family, work, etc) or those who really, really thrive in the online environment. I don't fit into either of those, so on campus for me!

I think they have you make an appointment with a lab and I believe it's a urine test? Not 100%.

There is a Facebook! You should be able to search TCC spring 2016 nursing students. I guess I'll work on organizing my bedroom and office to pass the time... They need it badly and it'll take a few days at least! Sorry you got rear ended ERiding, hopefully no one was hurt.

She's probably going to be swamped with emails tomorrow if we don't end up finding out today, since not everyone knows about the possible date change. I don't envy her! Luckily I got called into work early today and will have a long shift, so I won't be able to check my email very much this afternoon! Thank you work gods for saving my sanity!

Speaking of orientation... I can imagine we'll be sent some kind of info on that will the letters, but does anyone know when it might be? November? Sooner? I'm planning a trip for the end of October, hoping nothing overlaps. O.O

I think a lot of people this period missed some of the requirements as well, which is making the pool smaller than usual. The scores overall were lower too, so there's definitely hope! I've heard that those who are accepted are emailed, then the alternates, then those who didn't make it, but who knows if that's true or just a coincidence with what time people are checking their email. Fingers crossed we all find out this week, and the guessing will be over!

I'm really glad I chose to take classes this semester, since the wait seems like it's moving by! It's really just the unknown date now that's bugging me now. We'll know for sure by the end of September, so the max is only 17 days, but it could be as soon as Tuesday!!!

Yep, four semesters and a summer semester. Spring 2016, Summer 2016, Fall 2016, Spring 2017, Fall 2017. It does seem far away, but even applying seemed far away when I started my prereqs lol. Time will fly.

I'm sick too! Boo us, hopefully we'll start feeling better soon. I've been trying to rest as much as possible; my schedule is a little crazy right now so it's not really happening. But... it's good for keeping my mind occupied! Is anyone else planning on working while in the program? Full time/part time? Healthcare related or no? I'm currently a shift manager at a pizza place, and will hopefully continue that at least until I can work as a PCT (after first semester I think?). @atorrey, I didn't receive any sort of email or anything, if that's what you mean by confirmation. I did speak directly with Katherine though, so I have no doubts mine was received.

I'm in the Facebook group for Spring 2015, and someone said something about returning the acceptance letter on September 15th. And there were people talking about getting letters as early as the 12th/13th. I doubt we'll get ours in the next few days, unless they were super efficient at sorting applications.
