Hi everyone, I'm new here and I have been exploring the boards to get a better understanding of nursing programs and the career. It has motivated me even more (scared me a little at times!) and I'm very excited to start this journey. Right now I'm a Public Health major @ SUNY Old Westbury, and I would love to attend Stony Brook's accelerated BSN program. I currently work for NSLIJ as a practice file associate and I found out that they have a tuition reimbursement program for full-time employees who have worked for over a year. I was wondering if anyone has done this (or something similar with another hospital system) or if you have heard of anyone who has done this. Right now I'm set to graduate next spring and hopefully start nursing school next June, but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to take a year off and move up a little in LIJ and get tuition reimbursement. Also, does anyone know how long you have to work for LIJ after you graduate? I do not want to live on Long Island for the rest of my life but it might be too good of an opportunity to pass up. Thank you all so much for any help!
