Best Online Chem Course for CRNA school resume
I'm looking to start the process of applying for CRNA schools and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations about an online chemistry course that I can take prior to applying. Per the schools website "Entry level community or junior college level courses will not be accepted." Any advice? Many thanks in advance.

Transitioning to the Emergency Department
Hey all, Working in the ED has always been a goal of mine, and I'd thought I would come to you wise souls to help me figure out the best way achieve it and to be prepared for it. I'll be coming up on my year mark on a Neuro/Surg floor at a 450 hospital and will be training into Progressive Care soon on that same floor. So now that you know my background, i'm wondering; would it be more beneficial to get some ICU experience before I apply for the ED, or can I start there and learn the ropes though the orientation they provide? My ED is Level 1 Trauma. I'd rather just head straight to the ED, but I've been reading that getting that ICU experience is invaluable. I can handle the crazies that come into the ED, but I am inexperienced with critical care situations beside the occasional code blue we get on the floor. I've also head that the ED can be a nurse eat nurse world, but this is just what others have told me. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on the topic. Thanks!

How to land an OR Job...
Hey all, I'm looking to get into a OR position down the line in my career. I'm a fairly new nurse and have been working on a neuro/surgical floor for the last couple months. Just wondering what kind/how much nursing experience I would need to have in order to land an OR job. Do I need to have worked in critical care before they will even consider hiring me? Thanks for all you're advice!

Civilian Nursing on a International Military Base
Thanks for the response Pixie.RN. I'm doing my Nursing Capstone at the Minneapolis VA and am wondering if applying there (and hopefully getting a job!) working as a federal employee might help the process along/open up new opportunities for nursing abroad on a base. Do you think this will make any kind of a difference? And of course, gaining some nursing experience never hurts either. :) Also, does USAjobs list postings for all branches of service in the military?

Civilian Nursing on a International Military Base
Hey all, I am a nursing student who will be graduating with a BSN degree in May 2014. I am extremely interested in working as a civilian nurse on a international military base. As a new grad, is it possible to get hired into a hosopital in this area? If so, how does one apply for these positions? The information online gets a little complicated and I would very much appreciate some advice from nurses who have done it before or who know what the process is like. Am I dreaming too big here? I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
