Hey Guys, I wanted to let you know that I have been accepted to Regis University in Denver, Colorado, which is my home state, so I am staying in Colorado for nursing school! I have a part of me that is really sad, and I wish I could experience the University of Portland's program, because I know it is outstanding! But this is an excellent program also, and I am very happy!! I want to thank all of you for your encouragement and support as I was trying to figure out my big move to Portland! I wish you the best of luck! You are going to have a great education there at University of Portland!! I hope someone gets my spot who is on the edge of their seat waiting on the alternate list! :) (I didn't want to put this on the Facebook page for UP)

Thanks, Jared! I have some decisions to make and your ideas help me to know where to begin my search. You are right though; Craigslist can be a little frustrating because people use all areas to advertise their listing just in case they can "lure" someone in. I do want to make sure not to lose too much of a day driving, especially when we will be very busy as it is! Some of the areas I am interested in do not have as many rentals available. The map was such a big help and I may use my sister's realtor friend to keep an eye open for me. I am excited to get to know Portland and all its flavor and uniqueness! January seems a longs way off! I can't wait to get started! Hope your classes are going well! I was a little distracted at first, but I have pulled ahead again. :) Where are all the other applicants??? It will be fun to hear from them too!

Congratulations Jellyfeesh! Glad you got your acceptance today! I have been looking online for housing and I am floored as to where to live! Jared, do you have suggestions? I would like to rent a small house if possible! I am going to move soon, because my lease is just about up in Colorado and my sister lives in Camas, Washington. Do you think the drive from Camas would be too far? Thanks!

Congratulations Vivalavespagirl! It will go by fast, especially if you have a few prerequisites to complete first, such as Old/New Testament and Ethics! Does anyone have any idea where I could take these online? They don't offer them where I live now. Portlandgal, I also received my acceptance in the mail yesterday. I couldn't really believe it until I saw it look so official. Ha! I would have a hard time choosing between the two (UP and OHSU) too, but I am feeling really positive about UP after all the research and reviews I have read. I love the Dean's profile; have you read it? I think convenience is a big deciding factor when you are talking about your daughter! Unfortunately we won't know about OHSU until late April or May! Let's keep in touch in the meantime here and there so we don't feel so alone in our thoughts! :)

Hi Mamakac! It was great to hear your experiences at OHSU! It sounds like you are enjoying your experiences and are feeling like you are making great progress so far! I got an acceptance letter from UP today, and am hoping to hear from OHSU soon! (Transfer BSN) Have you heard any comparisons? Thanks!

Hi Portlandgal, Congratulations on your acceptance!! I also received an acceptance email today from UP! Did you receive your acceptance in the mail? I also applied to OHSU. It sounds like you are going to go to UP. Have you heard any advantages of one over the other or do you have a preference? The application process for OHSU was a bit long and brutal; good for you for getting it done in a hurry! I am moving to Portland from out of state. I am very excited to start!
