I understand the process and I understand that NCLEX applies to all states but I wanted to be specific on which state I wanted to apply in since every state's requirements differ. My question really pertains to the first step (getting the CGFNS exam before I can qualify to take the NCLEX- wherever it may be) - Is there a way around providing the local license (i.e. my proof of passing the local boards versus the actual license - which is expired).

Hi! I am a foreign nursing graduate who is interested in taking the NCLEX in NY state. I have passed the licensure exam in my country (Philppines) and am an RN there. I read that I need to take the CGFNS and TOEFL before I can take the NY NCLEX. My dilemma is that my local license is actually expired and I currently have no means to renew it while I am here in the US. I have proof of passing the licensure exam at my country though. I have the document from the local Professional Regulations Commission. Is there a way to proceed with my CGFNS application without my local license number?
