  1. I'm excited to meet everyone also! June 26 seems like it is so far away.... =)
  2. jennotjenn: Thanks so much for all of the helpful info!! Are you also in the program?
  3. nusa161: the same thing happened to me!! I'm so excited! I got into a few other programs but I am choosing to attend NJCU because of the vast amount of money that I will be saving by doing so =) (like 50 grand total!!) so excited to meet everyone on June 26!
  4. Hi guys! I just got bumped from the wait list to the Jersey City cohort. Woo-hoo! I know this sounds off-base but I am from out of state. I wanted to throw some questions out to those that are more familiar with the program. 1. Does anyone know what the program completion percentage is? I know it's intense and a lot of hard work, but I just want to make sure that it is doable before I commit to attending. 2. What are the clinical sites for Jersey City? i.e. what would be the longest clinical commute? 3. Does anyone know if they are giving us a book list ahead of time? (i'd like to spend the summer reading ahead!) 4. Is anyone else still sitting on the wait list? Thanks in advance for all of the info! I'm 90% sure that I'll accept my seat. Can't wait to meet you all on orientation day!!
  5. kdacayo: thank you for providing that link!! I just logged in and my app status says the same thing yours does.
  6. My interview was feb 24th! And they told us that we would know in two weeks. Haha this waiting thing is brutal! :)
  7. yeah, it seemed really strange to me that the first group of interviewees would be notified before all interviews were conducted. I think that a monh is a bit more accurate....that would cover all interview sessions. Does anyone know how we are going to be notified? through e-mail or snail mail?
  8. well, my two-week window has come and gone. Like I posted earlier, at my interview on 2/24, I was told that we would be notified of our decision in two weeks. So.....I'm thinking that it's going to be not so great news for me. I'm still holding out hope though. As soon as anyone hears anything please let us all know (makes the waiting game a bit more tollerable). =)
  9. I have three applications out right now to different places..... One being pace. I just hope I get into one program. I know how competitive it is. My stats are: undergrad GPA 3.1. Post bac. 3.8. Three years working in medical imaging. I scored around an 83 on the TEAS V test and an 86.6 on the HESI. (Pace doesn't require either test though) ugh I just hope I'm accepted. This waiting is tough!!
  10. ao710: thinking about you today! good luck in your interview. kdacayo: good luck on yours in 2 weeks! hope we all get accepted!! look foward to meeting you guys!
  11. It's just who jumps in first. I took the answering second strategy :)
  12. Pretty generic stuff really. Why nursing? Why pace? They also give you a chance to ask them any questions regarding the program at the end. It only took about 20 min and all of us had a chance to answer individually.
  13. Lizzlovejoy: when did you apply and when were you told that the class was 60% full? That makes me nervous! :). I know at my interview they told me they were going to admit 64 total.
  14. Sorry, I missed part of a question. Yes it's a group interview. There were 4 total in my group and 5 others in the other group. You do your essay/math test first and then break off into groups for the interview. The actual interview only took about 20 min.
  15. When was the priority deadline?
  16. I think I sent mine mid January. Yes there is a 3-question math test. Just review the TEAS test math prep and you will be fine. There are also two or three essay questions. (Like a three sentence response type of question)
  17. I interviewed on Monday feb. 24th. I received the interview request on friday feb 14th (at Valentines dinner....pretty sure everyone in the resturant thought i had just been proposed to or something) haha. The interview wasn't intimidating....very relaxed. However, I left without a "feeling" of how it went. I believe one of the instructors that interviewed my group said me would find out in two weeks (which would be monday march 10th for me). I know they are having/had interviews on monday feb 24, monday march 10, and monday march 24). I also applied to NYU and NJCU. I'm in the waiting game for all three schools. Just by calculating the interview time slots and number of people alloted for interview times, i'm guessing that they are going to accept 50% of those who they interview. fingers crossed for all of us!!
  18. I just called. Denied. Best of luck everyone.
  19. Ok, I'm going to try to word this very carefully so I don't get into trouble. when you guys call about your application status, which office do you call? Undergrad admissions? Graduate admissions? Or a special nursing school office?
  20. Oh wow. My last LOR was submitted in late December. Sigh....30 more days. Who wants to go halfsies on the Starbucks and pizza? (Haha)
  21. Woah! Wait.... When was the priority deadline? (heart is sinking)
  22. super nervous! good luck everyone!!
  23. Amen jen4! Ladybug14: did they seem like they would have decisions tomorrow? Thanks for the great info! Fingers crossed for both of us! :)
  24. From the time I have spent in Nashville I can say that it is a lot different than Memphis. In a good way! Nashville seems to have more of a mix of individuals....especially young professionals. There is a lot to do in Nashville and great networking opportunities. As far as living goes....downtown and the areas aroun d campus are quite pricy! (i lived in manhattan for a bit and i was still in sticker shock!) i like the brentwood area and like sarahbb said the belmont / 8th ave s areas are good too. I have a friend that lives in Hermitage. Nice area but a bit of a commute to vandy. hhirsch: when did you submit your application for FNP? I submitted mine in mid-october with my last LOR being completed dec 25th. I'm still waiting =/
  25. Hi All! I finally decided to join the group. I've been reading through this board for weeks and feel like I know you all. I'm in the waiting game for non-nurse FNP. The longer I have to wait the more nervous I am getting! I applied to 5 schools total, with Vandy being the only one with the combined masters degree. The rest of my schools are just accelerated BSN programs. Of the ABSN programs, I was admitted to one already, but declined. And the other three I am waiting to hear back. I can't get my nerve up to call the admissions office and I keep frantically check my email for that "status update" notification from vandy. Vandy is my #1 choice but i am not sure if my stats are impressive enough. good luck to everyone! Also, I live in the Memphis area so if anyone has any questions about tennessee in genral I'd love to help =)
