Well, start dates vary a lot. I believe they tend to be quicker for medical personnel, though. I was a guard in the chow hall, I got hired in at just 20 years old, so it was rough having a "young" face. The inmates ate it up. I worked there for awhile , then had to leave because my wife went into pre-term labor. It worked out, though, because now I can follow my dream, to become a nurse! I am currently only taking prerequisites , and very worried about clinicals. I know it will be worth it, in the end. The inmates will try you the first few weeks, just stay strong and don't let them get to you. After they see that you are a strong person, they will give you the respect you deserve!
