  1. I just completed my first semester of nursing school and want to apply for a nurse tech position at some of my local hospitals. The only prior experience required for the job is to have completed a fundamentals of nursing class with a clinical rotation (which i did). However I have never written a resume before and I have no idea what to write in it. I've never had a job before so I have nothing to put for that section. I found examples of entry level nursing assistants resumes online and was wondering if I could copy those and put in my info also. For example: "OBJECTIVES: Dedicated, service-focused professional seeking to transition into healthcare as a nursing assistant.Highly motivated to launch nursing career; future goals include education leading to NA certification and, ultimately, an RN license. Reliable worker with the ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly." this is from one of the examples I found and that info applies to me too except for the NA certification. Could I just use that? Like i guess I'm saying I have no idea what to even write about. Advice would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I'm a first semester student and I'm having trouble with coming up with a nursing diagnosis statement for my care plan. The patient was admitted with an infected right knee due to a recent surgery. For my concept map, my key problems that I thought of were skin integrity, falls, pain, anxiety, and mobility. My dx that I came up with so far was impaired skin integrity r/t immobility. That doesn't sound right to me though and I would like some help. I need 3 different dx. Thanks!
  3. Shake vigorously in what though?
  4. Okay I'm a first semester student so bare with me here. I have a few questions about reconstitution. In our practice kits we have amoxicillin in powdered form. It's not in a vial, it's in a little packet thingy. I know how to reconstitute using a vial but not a packet (like a packet of ketchup if you don't know what I mean)... how would you go about reconstituting this? My guess would be to open it into a medicine cup but that doesn't seem right. Also, is amoxicillin usually in powdered form? Heres what the packet says: practi-amoxi dosage 250 mg/5mL add 10 mL water to reconstitute. thats literally all the packet says. Also I assume it's safe to use tap water since it doesn't specify to use sterile or NS
  5. I don't understand heparin or the concentrations on the bottles (10000 units, 1000 units etc). How do you figure out how much to give if you're given a bottle? We didn't get any review time in class and I'm being tested on it Tuesday! Please give me an example if you can because im really trying to understand. Thanks!
