  1. Wow my mom worked at mental health hospital as an RN, about a year ago. This facility was also like a prison but the patients still were able to walk around the staff(they weren't in cells). She said that there were CNAs who worked as PTAs there. Their tasks were mostly recording data for patients. May be the facility was understaffed because this was an exurban area. Instead of physical therapist assistants may be they were working as psychiatric technician assistants. Either way why do they have to take a three semester course? The duties seem to fall into place with CNAs scope of practice and the responsibility; however not lesser, is less physical than that of a CNA. I think a CNA can handle PTAs scope of practice. If you disagree it know better, please prove me wrong.
  2. Do you guys know anyone who works as a PTA with only a CNA certification?
  3. Ok what if the employer uses a private number(I.e. when i am being called, all I see is private number as the caller id) have employers ever done that?
  4. Are employers allowed to use private numbers to call a potential employee? If so, has an employer ever called you using a private number?
  5. One 24 hour a week shift is possible as a CNA. Have any of you guys done this?
  6. Awesome feedback guys. I will try to take nursing more serious. One more thing. I would like you to take sec to look at this post--this is what shaped my opinion about all this(it was a post called "stripper AND a nurse".
  7. Well it's a community type project really. At first it started as me and my friend talking about us being actors and other cocky characters we know we will be later. Now we have many "many" stacks, mansion, bikes and many other cool people who want to be part of it. We got a script. Me and my friends are the two big drug dealers characters from a foreign country. It's a form of escapism and in my opinion a fantasy that changes the blaze ways of our former community.
  8. Would one be considered unfavorable over other CNA/RN competition if the employing staff sees an episode of one performing criminal acts? Or otherwise considered taboo behavior for the medical field. Really want some info on this. I am from Northern California. Or is it only if one commits a crime? So is it okay to pretend during private life or is acting like a "bad" guy detrimental to hiring?
  9. Hi everyone, I am a current CNA and will applying for applications for a CNA and RN in the future. I want to know what kind of database does the hiring staff have access to. Is there bias? I want to know the unfavorable type findings and favorable. Is the only unfavorable thing violations/misdemeanors or are there others? Assume I know the basics. Northern California is my location.
