Its a long day! we are there from 8 to 5 p.m. We start off it appears to be with all new students then after lunch from 2 to 5 we will go to the Nursing Orientation (the letter states we can purchase scrubs and our books).

Congrats! I'm very nervous. I received a letter stating we will find out our schedules during orientation. I wonder how large our class size will be.

Did you have your interview yet? How did it go?

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. This journey I know is going to be very difficult so I really appreciate your post because I too have children and I have wanted to be a nurse for a very long time. Raising a family while going to school is so difficult Harcum makes it possible for me to try and have some type of school/work/family balance. I do not think I will work the first semester. I keep hearing horror stories about the first semester is what makes and breaks you.

I had two people I interviewed with they were very nice they asked me why I wanted to be a Nurse and asked me some informal questions about why I thought Harcum would be a good fit. Be honest and you will do fine.

Hasn't classes started already? Don't give up. I understand it is a commute but you will have the summer off and breaks. A lot of nursing schools you go straight through.

Also, how much are scrubs? Sorry I have so many questions I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. I'm using personal loans to afford school and I'm trying to budget everything out.

I did not I am in the day program so I have not received anything yet. I want to get a jump on things now while I am working full time. How does the books work do can we order from amazon? Or only via school store? I was hoping I could buy used. How much is the AtI program? We pay for that ourselves as well? I found a CPR class it's $110..

Yes that's my fear as well but I'm going to give it 100%. I'm praying that I am making a good decision with Harcum. The program appears to be good I just need to have more faith I guess I'm older so there is no second chances for me.

It should take two weeks tops. I would give them a call. Childabuse is usually the one that takes 4 to 6 weeks

Is anyone attending the Harcum Day program? Have you received any information back about the schedule?

I decided to accept. I am scared about the accreditation but they appeared to be genuine about the steps they were taking to improve. From my understanding they are in the process of installing the elevator and making the building handicap accessible.

whitrc13 how do you like the program so far? I would like to attend during the day but I will admit I am fearful of them losing accreditation…. will the credits transfer to a BSN program?
