  1. Hi! I was just wondering what you guys think about a new grad going to work in the OR. I just started working last week and I am very excited about being in the OR; however, I am concerned about whether I will be limited (knowledge and skill wise) if I were to ever decide to be a floor nurse. Once I get "settled", should I look for part-time opportunities in a "traditional" nursing role so that I won't lose those skills, or do you think that making the transition from OR nurse to floor nurse won't be to "challenging" if I wanted to do so after a few years? Thanks!
  2. Zander- I recently took the NCLEX-RN in NC (6/10/05) and the quickest way to find out if you passed is to call the NC Board of Nursing's automated licensure verification line to see if a license has been issued to you. I tested on a Friday, and on the following Tuesday, a license had been issued to me so I knew then that I had passed the exam. You can also verify licenses via their website, but the license information will show up first via the automated line. The number is (919) 881-2272. I hope this helps. -NC
