Anyone applying to Bon Secours Fall 2014?
Hi beesmorales, I entered the program with a 4.0 and an 88 on the TEAS. I know they rely on the TEAS scores to weed out the lower grades. The GPA comes second. If you have a lower GPA or an issue with a grade, be sure to write a separate letter (in addition to your entrance essay) explaining your circumstances. They are very receptive to that. I graduate this year......its been a LONG road but I'm so excited and it seem like yesterday that I wrote this post.... You can do it! I"m happy to answer any questions you may have~ Good Luck!!!

Once admitted, there will be a "checklist" of items you will need to do. You will have student access (YAY!) and you will have your own sites to use on each BSMCON page in the "Student" section. They explain everything and give you a time frame to complete by. There are mandatory drug screenings, background checks and other basic information videos you will need to complete. They consist of proper hand-washing, etc. They also require you to upload your immunization records and physical results. I just used my iPhone and took pictures then uploaded them that way. I'm sure there are other methods. It seems daunting at first, but just sit down on a nice Saturday afternoon and knock them all out at once. Also you will need to complete BLS (I did mine there at the College and it was great!). Good luck and I bet you can't wait to start too!!

@mbtsab I think your best bet would be to call the school and speak with their admissions office. I know they do have evening classes available, but I'm most sure if ALL of them can be taken at night. Their admissions office is super-friendly and are happy to answer questions. Hope that helps!

Lalalan8, Orientation was business casual. Most people had on a nice pair of pants and a nice shirt. Not many jeans (they didn't seem appropriate). Be mindful that we had a few "team building" exercises that required us to do a project on the floor in groups. You may or may not have that, depending on the size of the group. There were a few in dresses/heels, but that that just seemed too dressy. Please note this is just my opinion and observations. EVERYONE looked nice: I think "business casual" is appropriate. I'm sure we will meet in January. We should be getting our schedules any day now. Good luck with getting all of your Sonis, NetPartner items, it is quite a bit of information. So happy for you and I look forward to meeting you.~Supermom

That's great news! Do you start in January with us? Sooo glad you were patient. I'm sure there were people who were offered a position then couldn't commit for reasons unknown. Are you finished with all pre-reqs? Inbox me if you don't wanna post publicly, I understand. The orientation was great, I'm just sorry you missed it. It is a GREAT bunch, so we will see you soon.....and welcome!!! CONGRATS!!!

@lalalan8- Did you hear back from BSMCON yet? Is there a spot for you? I hope so! Let us know!

Anyone applying to Bon Secours Fall 2014?
@lalalan8- That's probably good news, but still anxiety causing because you don't have the total number or exactly what place you are.....I'm so happy you re-applied as that is encouraging for others who didn't get in this time. I'm sure they are waiting to see just who will accept the positions. I also understand some accept then its too much of a financial burden and they are unable to continue. Fingers still crossed for you and keep us posted!

@lalalan8= I'm curious to know what the "wait-list" email said? Does it actually say you are on a wait-list? I wonder if they are just waiting to see how many accept after the due-date of May 9th. I know there are a ton of others who didn't get in all, so wait-listed is ok! (I can't begin actual nursing classes until Fall because I have one more pre-req/Statistics). Fingers crossed for you........

Anyone applying to Bon Secours Fall 2014?
Thanks all.....to those who didn't get in: don't be too discouraged as I just heard that they only took 40 out of over 350+ applications. While that certainly had me feeling even more honored, I realized that there were a ton of great applicants turned down......keep trying Gracejeter......

I'm SURE you will succeed. Just get all of the pre-reqs under your belt and then go back and apply when you can. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you the BEST! Good luck and let me know how your future is........all the best!

I got in!!! I will admit that I have a few tears of joy running down my cheeks. @Gracejeter, I'm SO sorry you didn't get in and I hope you keep trying. Hoping that you continue your studies and keep taking all of the pre-requisites and def try for the JSRCC now. Their deadline was extended to late May (I have heard) so you have plenty of time to get your documentation and take the Kaplan. Good luck to the others and I'm looking forward to starting this new venture.....xoxo

Bon Secours Fall 2014
I haven't been on their site in a few weeks. I wonder why that is? Has that ever happened before? Maybe they have so many good applicants. That would be great if we were included in that number!! Fingers still crossed......

Bon Secours Fall 2014
Yea, just heard. I also heard they had over 300 applications. What were your TEAS scores?
-
Bon Secours Fall 2014
I ended up with an 84%. I took it a second time to raise my science to 77%. I still wished for higher but it was tough. How about you? Just heard from them they will let us know early-mid May.

Bon Secours Fall 2014
Hi! The information that was given was that the application deadline was March 15, 2014. Approximately 6 weeks afterwards, emails go out. That makes it end of April! I hope that is helpful. Good luck! How was your TEAS?
-
Anyone applying to Bon Secours Fall 2014?
Thanks! Apparently, they use the highest of the scores on each section. That's the only section I retested on so hopefully that matters. It raised me to an 84% or something close (as it is "adjusted"). We are supposed to be hearing by end of April........

Anyone applying to Bon Secours Fall 2014?
Well, I just retook the TEAS and raised my Science by 11% so I am pretty happy. It's the only section I retested, and of course, now I wish I would've gone ahead and taken the English usage over. Anyway, overall, I have an 84% Individual and that's all I could ask for. I am a busy full-time student, single mom and have just the right amount of time to study, etc. I will keep my fingers crossed and go from there........(still have serious concerns due to my age and past grades). Looking forward to seeing how others did......

Anyone applying to Bon Secours Fall 2014?
Hi, I have considered John Tyler but understood you need to be a current student of their's to apply. Maybe things have changed and I do plan on talking with their counselor this week. I wanted to get the Kaplan out of the way as a backup since I feel I am at peak knowledge, if you will......I have no plans of ever doing Algebraic equations ever again! Again, I appreciate the encouraging words; for some reason, I just can't get out of my head that all of these young girls coming out of High School have a better chance than I do. We shall see and I am hoping that my experience weighs in, it's just a little hard (on the ego) coming back after a hiatus of being a stay at home mother. I wouldn't change a thing however, as being a mother I have learned more than any university could ever teach. Hoping that maturity plays a role in their decision making also. I hope other candidates know about this website, it's really cool and hopefully they will post their results/feelings also. It's just nice to know we are all similar.. best of luck.
