Hi, I'm planning on moving to the Portland area and am currently waiting on my OR endorsement to go through. I have read a lot off posts about how tough the job market is there. I am an RN (ADN) with 2 years experience on a surgical floor (mostly post-op GI related surgeries). I have a strong desire to go back to school for my BSN, but have not gotten there yet. I hear it is extremely difficult to get a job in a hospital there without a BSN. Would you say this is true? Having 2 years experience, do I have a chance at a position with one of the hospital systems? Any insight or recommendations are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi, I currently live in Georgia and hope to move to Portland, OR in the next few months. Is it a reasonable plan to accept a travel position in Portland in order to get my foot in the door at a hospital? I am currently waiting on my endorsement to go through, then plan on putting my house up for sale. I have 2 years experience on a surgical floor (med-surg) and am worried about finding a job there as I hear it's a tough market. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!
