Took nclex 3x and still a no go help.
Yes I already took my exam passed on the first try. I studied only for 3 1/2 weeks prior. ATI is mainly the only thing i used to study for the exam, there was also a CD that i used that came with a book that was very helpful as far as SATA, the book is called Saunders Comprehensive Review it comes with a CD to download and it has an excellent variety of questions and you can specifically choose to study only SATA questions just be sure to read the rationales for anything you get wrong

ATI was extremely difficult and taking the NCLEX seemed like a piece of cake compared to using ATI but it worked. Also when your doing practice questions make sure you always read the rationale this helps out a lot

I had a virtual teacher through ATI Testing i did the practice for 3 weeks then took the exam, try and see if you can purchase this if you can. Its all about understanding the question and what is being asked. During your exam what information did they keep giving you questions about ? Bc this is sometimes an indicator that you dont understand that topic

VA hospital CLC
I was recently offered a LPN position at my local VA hospital at the CLC (nursing home). I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on what to expect. I'm starting as a new lpn (no experience) coming from a totally different position (& higher pay sadly). Its been almost 3 years since i graduated from school and its been tough finding a nursing job when you have a great desk job lol... I'm just thinking i'll be a nervous reck... Can anyone tell me the orientation process also ? Thanks

HI EVERYONE, I'M STUCK ON THIS PHARMACY QUESTION AND I'M PRETTY SURE ITS SIMPLE BUT THERE IS SOMETHING IM MISSING HERES THE QUESTION: The patient is to receive Ancef 1 gram every 6 hours in 100 ml of NS to run over 30 minute. Using microdrip tubing (60 gtts/ml), what is the rate of the IV ? NOW I MIGHT BE WRONG OR SKIPPING SOMETHING BUT I'VE BEEN USING THE EQUATION VOLUME TO BE INFUSED * DROP FACTOR (gtt/ml) = IV FLOW RATE (gtt/min) TIME (MIN) PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS ?

Veterans Affairs LPN Interview Help
I wanted to know if anybody has interviewed with the VA hospital within the past 2 years for a LPN position. I am suppose to be setting up an interview pretty soon with a nurse manager and wanted to get a little more insight on the interview process. I do know that the VA has PBI and I have viewed some of the questions. I just want to really know what was the interview like ? how many people interviewed you ? and are the PBI questions on the website really something that they ask ? Also, is there anything I can do before hand to prepare myself better for this VA job interview, I'm sure they interview differently from a private sector

Nursing Home vs Hospital
Thank you guys very much for your input. It has really put my mind at ease. I totally understand that as a new nurse I cannot be picky. On the bright side I've heard back from one hospital and hopefully an interview date will be set up soon. Thank you again

Nursing Home vs Hospital
I'm a newly licensed LPN living in New Jersey. I've only had my license for 2 1/2 months now. I've been on a very intense job search lately. My biggest problem is that I'm not sure I want to work in a nursing home. During clinical's I had the experience of being at a LTC nursing home and a hospital. I prefer the hospital, the nursing home just didn't sit right with me. I would rather work in a hospital setting but lately I haven't seen many LPN positions open in hospitals. I was looking into applying for Agency work, however I've heard many stories not to start out there being that I have no experience past clinical's. I'm just looking for some kind of direction to get my career started. Do you guys have any suggestions ?
