I have no idea what the lowest score was, but I did hear through the grapevine that they accepted into the mid 60's (don't know if that is true or not).

Can hardly wait til Friday! I already got all the material supply stuff (uniforms, blood cuff, etc.) and I got the required books from the bookstore. I got the more expensive package of books instead of ebook package only because I wanted to have the hard copy (I like it better than using the ebooks alone) and Mosby's 2016 Nursing Drug Reference book is included in the package . Unfortunately I did not get the assignment I was hoping for. I was really hoping for Mission since I live just 1 mile from the hospital, but I got Fountain Valley on Thursdays instead. However, there is a sort of poetic justice to getting Fountain Valley since I was born at that hospital lol. Looking forward to seeing everyone Friday!!!!

Just stopped by the office about 20 minutes ago. All the emails for assignments went out just before Thanksgiving. However, some of the emails bounced back. So if you did not receive your assignment email contact Janet right away.

No email! I guess they didn't get it done in time to send out before the holiday weekend

I just stopped by the office today and they were working on clinical placements and told me that they will be sending out emails tomorrow :)

Does the bookstore already have our required books? That would be awesome if they did. I didn't think we got our book list until orientation. Have you guys heard anything about clinical locations yet? I'm really hoping to get Mission Hospital (its the closest to home).

No idea. I have not heard or seen anything about what room it is supposed to be in. I am guessing that there will be a notice on the main doors to the health science building.

I was going to wait til the paperwork session on the 12th to begin the hunt to purchase all the materials required. Specially since with some hunting I may be able to save myself a bit of money (amazon here I come lol). However, since I know that we will need to show immunization records, get a tb test, flu shot, and have a physical exam I set up an appointment for the 13th in the school health center to get some of that taken care of right away. That way too I can figure out what booster shots I may need since I have received all of the vaccines ages ago, including the hep b.

YAY!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!! This is turning into the best Sunday every Not sure which paperwork session to choose. I have a really flexible schedule and if you want to meet up let me know which one you are planning on going to and I will select the same one. I would be awesome meeting you guys in person!!!! Otherwise, orientation is on December 4 and we can always meet up then.

Check Your Mail!!!!!!!!! My letter came in the mail yesterday, but I didn't see it until just now. I'm was accepted for the Spring 2016 semester!!!!!!

For me working with the Work Study program, I won't work more than 12 hours a week (federally regulated). I would recommend hanging onto the job as a medical assistant at least at first. It gives you a foot in the door to a possible job as an RN later. But it all depends. Are they willing to be flexible and work around your school schedule? Do you think you will have enough time to study? I have read about people working and making it through school just fine.

Exactly. I am really enjoying the lab tech position. Definitely low stress. What I really like about it is that I am learning why my labs for the prereqs ran so smoothly and now I can be a part of that for someone else's experience. Life totally comes with bills and I am grateful for the Work Study program. It will probably be tough to work a job while going through the program, but I have heard of people being able to do it.

Taking the online version of Pharm and loving it. I was offered the Work Study program through financial aid and will likely keep working through them while in school (less than 12 hours a week and they work around your school schedule). I am currently working as a lab tech in the biology department. Beyond that, I do not plan on working but if something falls in my lap that is field related I might consider it. Are you thinking of working while in the program?

I will also definitely be posting as soon as I receive the rejection/acceptance letter. So nervous and excited. I am taking Pharm this semester (that way even if I do not get in, I can add those precious 5 points to the next application lol) and finishing the last GE classes that I need (Spanish 1 and Cross Cultural Cinema) so I don't have to worry about them during the program. I did get BLS certified. Took the class at Saddleback at the end of August. Figured it wouldn't hurt to take even if I do not get into the Spring program (its good til August 2017). Are you taking any classes this semester too or taking a much needed break? :) Are you BLS certified? If you are, did you also take the class at Saddleback?

I was off to the side also, jeans with a loose grey top (olive green top underneath) . Were you the person that spoke about the Teas exam? If so, you gave great information about it and the ATI manual is a huge help like you said. I stuck around til after everyone had asked their questions and left which gave me the extra bits of info. Not that it helps much, but it is nice to know how many people applied and that they have made their selections. You are so right that this wait is just so intense and I know it is because of the wait itself. Builds all that anticipation. We are so close to knowing!!!

RN info session was great . Plus learned a couple nifty tidbits regarding the Spring 2016 application period like there were roughly 130 (and some change) people that applied during this last application period. Also, they just finished making all the selections and we are now just waiting for letters to be mailed out. Hopefully they send them out sooner rather than wait til the 30th cause this wait is killing me Sooooooo excited and nervous to find out!!!!
