  1. Hi everyone, Any advice/responses on this topic would be appreciated! I recently had a patient who was admitted for a GI bleed. The patient was AO x 4; however, she had her mother as her POA. The patient was in need of a blood transfusion, initially, she was refusing and not wanting to sign the consent for a blood transfusion. After informing the doctor of the patients refusal, the doctor stated that the blood transfusion could still be started by having the POA sign the consent. Am I crazy, or is this incorrect? From my experience, I always thought that the POA only took over when the patient was unable to make these decisions on their own? The patient was oriented, but did have a long history of mental health disorders. Ultimately, the patient decided to sign the consent on her own, but I am still left wondering, was I wrong for believing that the patient still had the right to refuse a transfusion????
  2. That's great...Congratulations!!!! Will you be working on the unit you wanted? I just received my letter of rejection this morning....Onto the next for me!
  3. That's awesome! Wishing you the best of luck! I still haven't heard anything either way yet....Still holding onto hope! Lol. Keep me posted!
  4. Yes, unfortunately. It's kind of worrisome to me....Makes me wonder what they can see on a resume and/or job application that would cross you off their list so fast!
  5. I haven't heard anything back yet either way! How about you? I have heard from a few people though that the letters of rejection are starting to come via snail mail already :/ Seems so fast for that already to be the case!
  6. Thank you so much for letting me know! I think we better keep an eye on it just to be on the safe side!
  7. Pssssst! They posted the information on their website today...Wishing you the best of luck!
  8. That's probably the best idea! I remember the time frame vaguely because I remember that for their new grad program you could have up to 6 months experience working as an RN and my time frame when I talked to the recruiter would be cutting it close. Praying for the earlier start date! lol.
  9. Hello! I haven't seen anything posted yet! I just checked right now and it looks like the job postings have finally changed, but nothing for the new grad program. I would think it should be any day now. The last time I spoke to the recruiter I believe she said the next program would be for late June or early July. The last time I applied the application was available a little under two months before the program started. Keeping my fingers crossed that they are going to have it still :/
  10. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for the both of us! A lot of other facilities have started opening up their applications, so I'm guessing/hoping it will be any day now!
  11. You're very welcome! You're good to go then! I think its better to have them, than to not have them. I will be applying to their program again this summer. I have been checking their site everyday trying to find out the date when they will be offering the application again. Their application period for spring was so short...Don't want to miss it! Best of luck to you!
  12. Hello! When I applied they did not require you to have letters of recommendation. I did however attach mine with my application because I figured, hey why not? The only thing that they required of you was that you were certified in BLS, ACLS, and ECG/EKG. Hope that helps!
  13. That's awesome! Unfortunately, I haven't received a call back! Wishing you all the best for your interview tomorrow!!!
  14. Hi there...Did anyone else apply to Hemet Valley Medical Centers new grad program for March 2014? If so, I just wanted to see if anyone had received a phone call from them yet. Good luck to all who applied!
