I believe my interview was decent. Could have been better, could have been worse. I agree that everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I guess we will hear back in a week or two. Good luck!

2016 parkland critical care trauma nurse internship
I have until tomorrow (Friday) to make a decision on Baylor CVICU (they offered yesterday, so 2 days to make a decision) and until Monday the 4th for Parkland and Methodist Dallas. All of them were really great people who I would love to work for, I just have other goals in mind.

2016 parkland critical care trauma nurse internship
I do not know for sure yet. I am going to talk with a CRNA I know and see what he thinks will give me the best experience for CRNA school. I am pretty sure it will not be Parkland only because of the 3 year contract that costs you 20,000$ if you break it. If it weren't for that it would for sure be Parkland.

Job advice for new grad RN
I currently have 2 great offers on the table. One being at Baylor Medical center in Dallas in the CVICU and the other being Methodist Dallas (rotate through M/S ICU and Neuro ICU and then pick a unit). Both Level 1 Trauma Centers. My question is what unit will give me the most/best experience needed for CRNA school and why? One thing to mention. Neither require a contract, but the CVICU manager did say that they expect you to work at least 3 years on the unit. I plan to start CRNA school after 2-2.5 years of experience. I'm wondering if I would even get a good reference letter from her assuming I perform well. Pay is basically equal so that's not a factor. Thank for any advice!

Harris Health System RN Residency Program
I don't think it's a specific unit because the email said the interview was with the hiring managers. I put trauma icu as my first choice and I think cvicu second but I'm not 100% sure. I've slept since then.

Harris Health System RN Residency Program
Just received an email to schedule my interview for Monday at Ben Taub.

Harris Health System RN Residency Program
I'm not sure, but from previous experience with other hospitals, I have received calls from the same hospital/different units a week or so apart. So I would think it's a high possibility. Congrats on the interview btw!

Has anyone heard back from Harris Health after the information session a couple of weeks ago?

Advice needed on first job offer
I was just offered a position at a level 2 trauma center close to home. It was for a neuro ICU position with sicu overflow. This was sort of a "plan b" application for me as I really want to work in a big city at a level 1 trauma center in ICU. The manager wants me to make a decision asap about taking this position or not. I have an interview at methodist dallas tomorrow and that is one of the places I really want to work at. What should I do?
