  1. Ali, I have not received anything yet either. I'm sure it will be soon.
  2. The orientation we are talking about is UCF's transfer student orientation. I have not received anything regarding the nursing program specifically. Not since the acceptance email and the follow up confirmation email which said they received my RSVP/acceptance.
  3. Congrats RylanGator! You have to sign up for UCF's (regular orientation), and then we will also have a nursing specific orientation from what I understand, that will come later. I signed up for the May 9th orientation - as did several others here.
  4. Almost forgot - I asked someone who currently goes to UCF about orientation and they told me this, "... first you meet and they have a presentation. Then they will split everyone into groups and tour the campus, and go over all of the services available to students. Then you go back for lunch and then they take you to sign up for classes." I don't know whether we sign up for classes at the end though - as our classes are already determined... Guess we will find out soon enough.
  5. I have orientation on May 9th as well. It would be great not to spend the entire day without meeting others in the program! I will be there alone. I believe everyone will be separated into groups but I am not sure how it is done exactly.
  6. RylanGator - have you tried emailing? I have fast responses from UCF by email. Good luck - hope everything works itself out. :)
  7. I called UCF because I hadn't heard anything back and was getting nervous that I hadn't received so much as a confirmation that they received my reply. I was told that someone would be sending out soon - I assume that means an email. I have my reply in my sent items but keep worrying that something is going to mess this up!! I'm going to calm down now. :-)
  8. Also, for those who want to compare my stats were. 4.0 pre re. 4.0 overall and 83.3 TEAS. Cant wait a it to meet everyone also! So glad the wait is over. :-) To those still waiting for another program, good luck - I wish the best!!
  9. I just got an email. I have been accepted!!! Check your emails!!!! Yay! Good luck :-)
  10. Hello, amc15 - I plan to apply to the concurrent program and I have not yet found anything that says you have to do another background check. http://www.nursing.ucf.edu/images/pdf/UCF-ValenciaConcurrentInfoPacket.pdf Im in not going to apply until after this weekend. Hopefully, like you, I won't need to! Good luck :)
  11. Hello! I agree - sounds like a great idea to meet up (if I make it!) I'm guessing we will hear Friday night after we are all asleep... Until then ... Hang in there everyone!
  12. Don't worry leahmmcdonnall and Ali...I'm totally freaking out too. The closer it gets the more I think about it. I'm driving my family crazy I'm sure.
  13. It takes 7-8 semesters to complete both degrees. The idea is to get your ASN (Valencia) while at the same time take courses that count toward your BSN (UCF). The UCF website says that once you complete the ASN portion, you can finish your BSN in 1 to 2 more semesters. Not my first choice but can still reach my goal this way if I absolutely have to....
  14. Hello We only have 12 more days to wait at most :-) I scheduled my standard orientation for UCF for May 9 because I wanted to wait to find out whether I was accepted to the nursing program. Also, tomorrow the application window opens for the UCF/Valencia concurrent program. I think I'll wait a week before applying to see if I get an answer for the basic first. I REALLY hope we get an answer soon.
  15. I have not called on the basic progress either... At this point I will just assume it will be another week or two. Hang in there everyone!
  16. So... Who is left and still waiting for a decision for UCF's basic program besides me?! I am applying to the concurrent on April 1st if I do not hear anything. I am already on the wait list for Valencia's basic program so all I need to do on their end to apply to the concurrent program is to complete a form. UCF said I would need to complete another Survey. Anyone know what the Survey is they are referring to? Congrats to to everyone who was accepted to the accelerated program! It must be a wonderful feeling!
  17. Me too! Trying to stay busy... So hard to wait
  18. Okay! Sounds like a good idea. I also was thinking the more options the better. Thanks :-)
  19. Hello All, What are your thoughts about applying to UCF/Valencia concurrent program for this fall? The application window is April 1- 30. I really didn't want to go this route but am nervous about not being accepted into UCF's basic program. I suppose I could apply as a back up plan if we do not receive an answer by April 1. Any opinions?
  20. This has been the longest week!!! Since there are no interviews I am hoping we receive a quicker response. Haha...
  21. Thank you allinall I definitely felt much better than before ... At least now I know that if I am not accepted - there was really nothing else I could do! Anyway, good luck everyone.

  23. Hello Future-Murse, I did take the TEAS today ...at Valencia. I did not have much preparation time but still managed to raise my score to 83.3. I did not do as well as I had wished but it is what it is! Hope everyone else did well :) Now we wait!
  24. I retake the TEAS tomorrow...wish me luck
  25. I have applied to UCF's basic program. I have a 4.0 cum/ and 4.0 pre-req. Unfortunately I only scored a 79.3% on the TEAS test. I am studying to take it again prior to the Feb. 15th deadline. I feel like I am not competitive with this test score even with my GPA. Does anyone know which will carry more weight in regards to the acceptance decision making? Just worried that I won't score high enough on the TEAS to make a difference.
