Pre-requisites
I have a 5 year old and 18 month old...You are right, it is so tempting to just get up and do the housework..This is what I am doing..I will be thinking, it is okay, I will clean this mess and then go back to studies..the mess would lead to something else and so on..Finally when I sit down to study, I study for quarter of the time I had allotted before. I love the timer idea!!..

Thanks a bunch, really appreciate all the tips you gave me. How were you able to record the lectures?..what did you use? Can any app on my iPhone help? I will try a lot harder from now..trying to study with kids was a little new for me.

Pre-requisites
I have not yet fallen behind the classes.I gave my first exam yesterday.I did well on [A&P] but horrible on the micro exam.I have no problems getting the concept.I am having bad study habits... not managing time properly. I did not read my chapters before going to class.I understand all the concepts in class but not doing good at home.I was a stay at home all these years and now I am finding it hard to juggle all of it together..Kids getting sick and all their schoolwork etc. I badly want those A's. This is just the first exam for the semester and I do want to make some changes. I am aiming for an an accelerated BSN program and these are only 3 of their prerequisites.I have an additional psychology and nutrition(not to mention A&P part 2) I was planning on applying next year and do not know what to do..get better scores or delay the application. Also, if this is what everyone is doing, I will give it my best shot with better time management plans.

Is there a chance for me?
- Is there a chance for me?
I applied for a clinical assistant job and still waiting to hear whether I got it or not. Online schools seems to have no problem with my GPA but do not want to venture on that line yet. I want to give my best shot.. Can a LPN degree help me? Are there more direct entry programs after LPN?- Is there a chance for me?
- Is there a chance for me?
Robin87, Thank you for replying. I had lost all hope thinking that I had no chance at all since no one had replied to my post earlier. Anyway, I went on to do their pre-requisites in the local community college(CCV).I am hoping that I can show them(or any other place) that I can be a good student. I hope this would raise my GPA as someone else pointed out. You did share some good points that I want to consider while choosing UVM. I live in Plattsburgh and do you have any other suggestions for me. Thanks once again!!!- UVM MEPN program for 2013
I am trying to get into the UVM DEPN. I know that it looks too good a dream for me now but I want to give it the best shot.I live in Plattsburgh, NY and the program is close by. I am international graduate and I was able to get my transcripts evaluated.I got 2 GPA scores(very confusing even for me). I got 2.61(comprehensive) and 3.00(best result). The first score was because I got a bad score on 2 of my subjects(bad phase in life) Should I consider UVM or just give it up?What if I did well on my pre-reqs and also did well on my GRE?- Happy birthday to me! 35 years old and a new nurse!
Congratulations..I am inspired.Hope I can post something like this in a few years.- Is there a chance for me?
I have decided on a career change to nursing and so excited about it!!However I am facing a lot of obstacles with my credit, being a international graduate. Recently,I heard about UVM and the transfer options available. I have an overall Grade average 2.61.I was wondering if I have any chance at UVM. what chance do I have? Is my GPA too low for any nursing programs?- Work experience
My only option is the county vocation school as of now.Thank you for the above suggestions. I might be ready to do a full time accelerated BSN program in the future.Once I get a degree(LPN/ASN), I might get a job(hopefully) and have someone to look after the kids which might help me do a full time BSN program. One last question..Does having a online degree vs traditional schools affect a competitive BSN program in the future?- Work experience
I do not possess any of the above mentioned certification/license.It makes sense to get an LPN degree to acquire the clinical skills in peds, geriatric etc.Can LPN be earned through a local community college? Is there anything that I can do fast track to RN after LPN? I am highly motivated and want to make up the lost time as fast as possible but at the same time be confident. Also, full time mom to small children and hence the online programs at Excelsior were highly appealing to me.I have already just crossed my mid thirties(makes me feel old).Any suggestions would be helpful.- Work experience
I have been trolling the forum for a long time and thought I would pen my concerns and ask for help. My story...After a stagnant period of 10 years, I plan to go back to Nursing school and earn myself a degree.I have a health related degree from outside US and I have been looking at various options available for me. At present, the excelsior ADN program looks like the most feasible program for me in terms of the cost and online part.I inquired with Excelsior, who is willing to give me credit for some of my previous courses. My only concern is the clinical skills part since I have been so stagnant. Can anyone advise me on how I can get work experience while being on the Excelsior program? I have also heard that the CPNE can be very hard exam to pass.I want to have an edge over it too. Please advise me,as to where and how I can start with a background like mine? - Is there a chance for me?
