Hey. Its great to see that your motivated. Honestly, as long as your gpa meets the minimum requirment, you will go through the steps towards taking the HESI. After applying and have met all the basic requirements, you will be asked to pay for a background check. If they find anything off about that, you will not continue. After that, you will take the hesi and that is where it gets competitive. From my knowledge, they take the students who had the highest score and go down from there. So a competetive score on the hesi is important. Good luck

Colette is right. Its not easy to work and go to school full time. Something will give way and you wont like it at all. Most of my classmates work full time and they make it work but again the majority of them are part time at school. A fulltime day job along with a fulltime school schedule is insane. I wont say its not doable but you will suffer alot. The programs not easy and there is alot to know in a short amount of time. Please consider how you will manage the heavy work load of nursing on top of your job along with your family (if any) and social life. A classmate of mine works fulltime and his grades are suffering. So think about it Also, i believe your chem should be fine. What chem did you take?

Lol yea I think that is the better option but again I dont want to give up on animation even though I doubt itll help me in the long run for Nursing. btw Happy new Years everyone. Two more weeks until we meet for orientation. Hows everyone doing with the math packet? I feel like its the same as the conversions from Chem and the HESI with a little more.

lol that was my plan but I didnt enjoy my honors class before so i decided to drop it.

Ah isee. My only issue with the evening program is that the classes you take dont equal to a fulltime status. Therefore i have to find other classes to take to keep my full time status and my financial aid...

Hey guys, Is anyone else majoring in something else along with Nursing? Double Major, or a minor or a certificate? Im wondering if i should also major in something else as well along with the Nursing. I know a guy now going on to the second level with a double major in Nursing and Chemistry. I always had an interest in Computer animation and was thinking of pursuing either a certificate or an associates but Im not sure atm. Needless to say, im sure computer animation wont help me with Nursing at all but art was something I was good at when I was young and I would hate to give that up.

Here are the rules for uniforms i found from last spring semester UNIFORM POLICY Uniforms are to be purchased through Belle Uniforms. Students are expected to be properly attired and act in a professional manner according to the following regulations when in the clinical agency. Students improperly attired will not be admitted to the clinical agency and will be considered absent for that day. The Uniform Code is as follows: -Students are expected to wear the regulation white Bergen Community College Uniform. -Female students may choose dress and/or pant suit uniforms. -Male nursing students wear white trousers and a white clinical top. -A white jacket with the Bergen Community College Patch is an optional item which may be worn over the uniform for warmth. -Uniforms are to be clean and in good repair. -White or skin tone underwear, without logos, should be worn underneath the uniform. -Uniforms are to be of a reasonable length. -Shoes are to be clean, all white, with rubber soles, and good support. -White or flesh tone stockings or white socks are to be worn with the uniform pants. White or flesh tone stockings are to be worn with the dress uniform. -Hair should be neatly arranged so that it does not fall on the face of hang over the shoulders. No elaborate hair fasteners or hair bands are allowed. No extreme hair styles or extreme colors. -Religious headwear is permitted, however, the full face must be seen. -No rings other than a wedding band may be worn with the uniform. -Only one pair of tiny round earrings for pierced ears may be worn and no other body piercing jewelry is allowed. No other jewelry is permitted. -Nails must be short, clean, and well-manicured. Only clear or light color nail polish will be acceptable. -No artificial nails of any kind. -Make-up, when worn, must be applied subtly. Tattoos, where possible, should be covered -A regulation name pin will be worn on the left side of the uniform. -Bandage scissors, black or blue pen, penlight, stethoscope, and wrist watch with a second hand are required equipment. -Perfume or colognes are not to be worn. I just want to make sure that we don't need uniforms until clinicals start. can someone validate this? what do we wear in labs then? the evening program didn't need uniforms until the start of clinicals. one has to first pass the Pharm test before clinicals start.

Hey riveraj8, Np np As for the uniforms, again from the previous posts that i have read, uniforms are not mandatory for classes but it depends on the professor. Also, depending on how people dress for class, the professor might make it mandatory to wear the uniform. i will try to find the forum when I can.
