  1. Hello all! I am a current BSN student writing a paper on the ethical considerations of end of life care. I wanted to get some opinions from professionals in the field concerning: advanced directives, symptom management, stages of grief, promoting patient's dignity, the general role of the nurse in the nurse-patient relationship, etc. What are some of the most important steps one can take to promote ethical clinical practice? Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. -Thank you
  2. Admitted to the traditional track! I had originally applied for accelerated but went in knowing that I would be thrilled for either. I'm sad to hear about such great applicants getting denied and hope that somewhere else recognizes how wonderful you all are. Congrats to those who got in and everybody on the wait list, don't lose hope yet!
  3. Yeah I don't live in Jax either so I don't really expect it to get here that soon. I was wondering the same thing! Alphabetical, by group...who knows. I was in the 10:30 group.
  4. I feel ya VeeRose, I've been refreshing all day and my status hasn't been updated yet. My mail doesn't usually come till a little later so if the letter gets here today,I won't know for a bit. I am trying to be patient but the waiting is hard!
  5. Did you guys see that the stats from this cycle are up on the fb page? I see that there are 162 total but I'm really curious as to how many people are interviewing for each program. " Good morning!Several of you have written and asked about the summer application data. I can tell you that there were well over 500 total applications submitted for the term, and at the time of final review, nearly 425 candidates had active applications on file &/or had submitted TEAS scores. Our first action is to determine who has TEAS scores and active applications on file, which was about 350 individuals; however, roughly 75 of those did not submit TEAS scores to the SON Admissions Office by the deadline. This left about 275 candidates to be considered for interview. We are pleased to announce that we were able to invite 162 candidates to interview for the 72 total spots (27 APL, 45 RPL) for the summer. These invitees averaged 338 TEAS points and 3.72 in their prerequisite courses (the two factors that are used for interview ranking). They also averaged 3.51 in their cumulative undergraduate GPAs, but this factor is not used for ranking candidates. Interviews will be held at UNF on Friday, March 7th in four timeslots; eight groups of candidates will meet in each of the slots. Decisions should be issued late on March 10th or early on March 11th. Mandatory orientation for those admitted will be held on May 8th & 9th with no exceptions issued.I hope this information is helpful to candidates as they look toward future applications and wish the best to those we will meet on March 7th!Beth Dibble, MSCJ, MPSAssistant Director for Admissions: Nursing & Physical Therapy Programs"
  6. I'm in the 10:30 group! Congratulations everyone!! :)
  7. Had to check this out...mine was also updated. I think it might just be in reference to when we requested to look at the file. Maybe??
  8. Lol I have been doing the exact same thing for the past 2 days!
  9. I agree about the teas science! Not so much the anatomy and bio as the earth science but over all, it was my least favorite section. I only took it once btw. Maybe would have attempted again if it wasn't so expensive and if I thought my score would differ significantly.
  10. Thanks for the encouragement, HellooNursh, I appreciate it! I think you're right about the interview and so hopefully it is a good fit.
  11. Hey everyone! I've been lurking this thread long enough, it seemed time to join haha. Sounds like you all have *fantastic* stats so I wouldn't worry about snagging an interview :). Mine are on the lower side, unfortunately (3.61 and 84% TEAS) so I would be excited just to make it to interviews. I also freaked out when I saw the update on fb! Honestly though, I'd rather know sooner than later. Good luck everyone!!
