  1. Thanks a ton resilientnurse! I decided not to take the offer as they were really pushing on having me start ASAP. After finishing up this semester in school, I need a bit of time to recuperate and take care of my own mental health :) These questions will definitely help me out in my future job search!
  2. I'm currently a student who will be graduating here in a few months. Recently, I received a job offer, but am a bit worried about accepting. As this will be my first PMHNP position, I fear I'm not asking all the questions I should be. Do you guys have any advice on the critical questions I should be asking prior to accepting? Thanks!
  3. I'm currently a direct-entry psych np student finishing up my final semester and plan to graduate in May. I've started applying for jobs and have interviewed with a few different places. Prior to these interviews, I spoke with my advisors and preceptors to help identify areas I should be concerned with and ask questions about. Key areas included good supervision, collaboration, and time for intakes and med-checks. One job in particular seems like a great fit, but I wanted to hear what other providers have encountered right after graduation. The position I'm strongly considering is an outpatient facility in a rural area not requiring physician oversight for prescribing. Hours would be on a M-F schedule with days/eves. There are 2 other psych NP's in the area with a collaborating psychiatrist. Each intake is allowed 90 min with follow ups between 15-30. I think it sounds like a great opportunity for a new grad, but I also feel that there's something I'm missing or not properly asking about. Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated!
