Grey's Anatomy thoughts
I've never really been offended by the show. Sure, there are some less than correct portrayals of nurses and doctors but hey, it makes for good tv.

What is a "Code Black"?
George is my FAVORITE!! I really wish he and Izzy would get together.

What is a "Code Black"?
Thanks! I'm so addicted to this show. Did anyone watch last night when the nurses went on strike?

What is a "Code Black"?
On the previews for next week's Grey's Anatomy they were talking about having a "Code Black". What is this?

Age when you had your first child?
Way to go Marie! An inspiration to us all!

Has anyone else had this problem?
Can you use your old card? This is all news to me! I've been married for three years and have never even thought about needing to get a new card.

Do I have to quit my job to take LPN classes???
I hear you. I'm 23 and make $38K and my husband makes about the same so there was no way I could get grants.

Losing money being a nurse
I bought my house last year and prices seem to around the same today. Maybe a tad higher but not much. It really is amazing how outrageous real estate is in some places.

Losing money being a nurse
Ain't that the truth. And I'm just as guilty of it as anyone too. I think it's especially difficult for young people. We all want everything our parents had ASAP. Of course, my husband and I make more money than both of our parents yet they seem way happier than we are. We really are a materialistic generation. Sure is a hard habit to break though.

Losing money being a nurse
Absolutely. I moved from Virginia to Arkansas and let me tell you, I was amazed at the difference in real estate. A house bigger and newer than the one I had bought for 225K there I bought for 82K here. I don't make much less than I did there either. But it's still so hard. Everything is going up except wages. We've even talked about not having kids because it's already so tight for us. It would be much worse with another body. That's a sad day when you have to make sacrifices like that.

Would you have a child because you thought you would regret it later on if you didn't
I agree. I never really thought about it until I turned 23. That birthday was like an open door for people to ask when we were going to have a baby. Kids are a product of their environment. I guess all we can do is do our best as parents and hope it sinks in. I worry about waiting too late for the same reasons as asoldierswife05. I hear the best part about being a parent is the opportunity to be a grandparent. The longer I wait the less I'll be able to enjoy that. On the other hand, everything about waiting until I'm in my late 20's (if ever) appeals to me more.

Would you have a child because you thought you would regret it later on if you didn't
Sometimes I wonder if it's pointless to try to raise a child today. They are so disrespectful and greedy. I know that if I did some of the things kids today do my orifice would be grass. Is it worth it when the chances of having one that grows up appreciative and humble are slim? Take my sister for instance, she's 10 years younger than I am and the most ungrateful little wretch ever. Can't be the parenting, my brother and I grew up fine and if I do say so myself, I have great parents. The environment today is awful for raising a child. Once they hit adolescence...ugh. Am I being too negative? I am weighing the option of having kids and can't for the life of me make up my mind.

Gray's Anatomy
I LOVE Grey's Anatomy!! It's the only show I watch (I'll put the books away)! It's just a tv show folks. Just about every show degrades something or someone.

Age when you had your first child?
So you all agree that finishing school before starting a family is the best choice? (This is my own question, paper was a hit!!!)

Age when you had your first child?
Thanks for all the replies! My prof is going to flip! It seems as there are pros and cons to any age. I have no children and don't plan to until my late 20s, maybe 30. Do any of you that had your children when you were older worry about your retirement or not being able to spend as much of your life with your grandkids? Dh worries about being too old when the kids get out of school. He's worried he'll never be able to retire. Are his fears valid?

Age when you had your first child?
So what would you say is the ideal age?

Age when you had your first child?
Morning everyone! I'm doing a paper for development psych (ugh) and was wondering how old most of you were when you had your first child and what you think the best age to start a family is. I appreciate your responses in advance!

Which was more difficult?
I want to be an RN. The CC I'm attending offers LPN then RN completion. I'll be doing both. I just wanted imput as to which you felt like you had to devote more time too. My husband is doing the building and I'd like to help out as much as I can.

Which was more difficult?
The LPN program or the RN program? I'm beginning a part time LPN program then will enter the RN program. We're discussing building a house and I'm going to be in one of the programs during the process. I was just wondering which was more difficult and time consuming for some of you. Thanks!

Anyone wearing team logo scrubs?
I'm not for the shorter tops but I AM for the drawstring wide legged pants. I'm young and tapperd pants went out in the 80's. I wear normal tops so you don't see my "business" but the old pants with the elastic wastebands that start below my boobs are not going to happen. I want Nascar scrubs with a big 38 on them!!!

Would you have a child because you thought you would regret it later on if you didn't
I think patience comes with maturity too. You might be worried now but when you're a couple of years older you'll be more patient and have matured some.
