  1. I just got an email from Haze with specifics on when I start and culture day. Culture day for me is feb 19 and start day is Feb 8
  2. Hey you guys! I have accepted a position at Memorial Hermann TMC in the NSICU. I too am confused on the date of culture day. I received an email saying that the date was changed from feb 3 to February 2 and then q following email saying to disregard it. I emailed Haze asking the location of culture day and he emailed me back basically saying that once they have cleared me of my paperwork I will be given specifics on culture day. I have already went through my health screening, background check, and sent Haze proof of me passing NCLEX so I'm confused what else I have to do on my part. I have a friend who started on Jan 22 and he has not yet been to culture day and was told that he will just go at a later date. That being said if I don't hear anything today I'm not going to culture day tomorrow and I'm still under the impression that my start date is Feb 8
  3. Hey you guys, I am currently a second semester nursing student at UTMB I just wanted to wish everyone good luck. I remember when I was in this position a year ago and how overwhelming it can be so just hang in there. In the forum for my class there was a current student who was answering some of our questions and I found it extremely helpful so if anyone has questions I would love to try and help. I was asked for an interview where I spoke to one of my current professors, the interview is very laid back so don't be nervous, and found out two weeks after the interview via mystar that I was accepted. @AndreaRodriquez I wore business casual slacks and a cute blazer. Also I highly recommend that if you have impressive stats to go to the UTMB homepage and consider applying for the honors program. A lot of students in my class were not aware of this so they missed out on the opportunity to get a full ride. Overall nursing school is tough yet so rewarding so I'm glad you guys decided to apply. Hope to see yall soon!
  4. Good luck to all who have been waitlisted I have my fingers crossed for you guys, I know a lot of people who have declined their offers for UTMB for personal reasons so there should be a lot of spots still available. I was told in my interview that people that have been waitlisted have been called the day of orientation to be told that they have been accepted so keep your heads held high. I hope to meet all yall in the fall! And even if you haven't been told anything that's still better than being rejected there was like 600 people who applied so remember that it is highly competitive and its impressive that you made it this far.
  5. I wouldn't get nervous I honestly think that they won't send out acceptances again until the beginning of April. good luck to all that are waiting!
  6. @Mborges, I just sent you a private message about being possible roommates :)
  7. Is anyone else having a problem trying to accept admission? For those of you still waiting to hear something please do not get discouraged. Just remember that everything happens for a reason and that there are plenty of people who have been accepted that might have a different school of choice. I know its been said that interviews will be conducted until the beginning of April, but if you ask me that is still really early and anything can happen until then and the start of class. Good luck everyone I have my fingers crossed for yall!!!
  8. @zurie no I had an interview 3/6
  9. I also just checked my mystar and was accepted!!!
  10. I had my interview 3/6 and still have not heard anything but I'm just trying to be patient
  11. @zurie have you had an interview? Congrats @VeronicaAnne
  12. If anyone hears anything today please keep us updated, I keep staring at that green circle
  13. @cassidy yeah they had to of lost your application or something because it shouldn't be taking this long. I'm sorry you have to go through this I can only imagine all of the stress your going through. I think I was one of the first people to interview for the second wave so hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll hear back a response soon!
  14. Also, @Cassidy, have you heard anything back yet? I remember you had impressive stats
  15. @nursinghereicome27 stay positive I'm sure they are just overwhelmed by all the applicants, class wouldn't start until August and so there is still plenty of time. I was wondering the same thing about whether or not the admissions committee has spring break off. I wouldn't think so since some people have interviews tomorrow but who knows. @LizzieT, I am also taking my last 16 hours and good luck on your interview!!!
  16. Congrats on the interview invite @kchua. I think my interview went well thank you for asking @lacyaaaus. Like everyone has said in the past posts its not intimidating at all but of course I was still nervous. The guy at the front desk was extremely nice and he gave me two informative packets about the school and apartments that I'm sure everyone else also received. The packet in the school stated that one of the things to expect after your interview is that "you will be notified via email within the next 4-6 weeks of your admission status" this is the only part that confuses me since from what I understood, I thought that you would know your status within 4-7 weeks after receiving your mystar account. Either way I'm going to remain patient since my interviewer reassured me that I will find out shortly. The interview was one on one and the man I spoke with was, like everyone else, extremely nice. He explained that after his interview with me that he would fill out a piece of paper and that will be considered as a factor in my acceptance. For those of you who are approaching your interview dates, don't worry if you think you bombed it, the interview is only another piece to the puzzle and it wont make or break you. Like past posts have stated, I was told that around 500-600 people applied and interviews are just a way to weave them out. My interviewer also told me that they ask about 50 people to be on the waitlist and that in the past some of those people have found out very last minute whether or not they were accepted. I hope this helped out a little, and good luck to everyone!
  17. I have my interview today at 3 and I will try to ask some of the questions yall are wondering about such as how many spots are left, and when will everyone know whether or not they make it. Any other suggestions?
  18. Oh yeah I forgot to say that I scheduled my appointment for Thursday at 3
  19. @jmk31 I have a 3.74 overall GPA and 4.0 science GPA. I made a 80 on my Teas overall and an 84.7 on the science section. The part that I'm nervous about is that I'm still in the process of finishing up my last 16 hours and I'm pretty sure that I'm the only that has this many hours left. I'm trying to get my pre-reqs done in a year and I've done everything I can (summer classes and winter classes) so hopefully they will understand. I also have no work experience but I volunteered at the Brenham State School for about two years so hopefully that looks good. For those of you still waiting on a invite, hang in there we all know exactly how you feel and its still early! For all we know this could be just the second wave of people and there might be many more to come
  20. I just got an interview invite too so others who were also waiting for an invite, I would check your emails :)
  21. Congrats to everyone, I haven't been asked for an interview and so I'm naturally getting discouraged. I have about the same stats as people who have already been admitted and although that doesn't mean anything it gives me hope! For those of you who have also not been asked for an interview what date did yall receive yalls mystar account? I got mine Feb 6th and I was just seeing how that compared to everyone else in the same boat I am in.
  22. I'm so behind you guys, I just received my mystar account this morning but my stats are pretty much like everyone elses so hopefully I will get asked for an interview soon. Congratulations to everyone who has an interview, I'm so excited for yall!:)
  23. Do they also take into consideration what you made on not only the TEAS test all together but also on the science portion of the TEAS?
  24. So am I. Do they do interviews?
  25. Thank you for your help!
