  1. Well the day has come that i have anticipated orientation with my mentor, The first day she was just as warm and sweet as apple pie saying that we were going to work hand in hand day two it seems that she is annoyed with me, she says im not trying to be harsh but if you don't pick up your speed they going to say you not ready and need more time and you wont get your own assignment sigh:cry: I know that once you get out of school its a new ball game but how can you speed thru feeding some one? In class room training they said you have to have tough skin to be in this environment or you wont survive but thats easier said than done, don't the mentors understand that the speed will come in time or do they expect you to hit the floor running some days i feel im doing well when my mentor encourages me and the next moment she critiquing everything I do I don't know the resident as well my mentor I just feel really lost:crying2:
  2. Thank you divalajuicy!
  3. Hey divalajuicy thanks for responding I don't what happened to the pay rate maybe becuz I'm a new grad student starting out even with a shift diff from 11am to 7pm it was $10.55. I didn't like the vibe personnel wasn't friendly at all I took a reading test where it was timend for one minute than a short quiz and the interview was with a LPN who had me sign papers and gave me a job description . then she said once your background check comes back you can come in for a physical and then orientation but I don'tkknow when that will be couldn't give me a time frame nothing once she said said that my impression is that they were unorganized. Needless to say I'm not accepting the offer the prior company reached out to after fair acres did I just wanted to weigh my options out to see which one was better . as soon as that interview was over with fair acres I called the recruiter and told her I wanted to accept the offer with the somerton facility in the Northeast yes I am AA and from what I'm hearing a lot of thse nursing home Ltc are clique like catty oh well I'll be working 3-11pm and thank you!
  4. Thanks for responding living life 1987 that was the impression I got too after the interview
  5. Hello all I'm excited to be apart of this forum as I am a recent graduate student from red cross nursing aide program as of 10/2013 and became certified 11/20/2013 to my dismay I thought when employers seen red cross when I applied for jobs I would be getting calls left and right ummmm nope I was sadly mistaken Ive applied on line and went in person and filled out application's nothing. However I did have one interview with Genesis health care thru a recruiter at one of their facilities but have yet to hear anything and Fair acres reached out to me about after a month . my interview with them is next week I'm anxious and excited I found it odd they do the background check before they interview you. Can anyone advise me how the interview process goes with them? How long is their orientation pay rate etc? Any feed back k would be helpful and appreciated guys!
