This is my first travel assignment, how does scheduling usually work? Do they just schedule you whenever they wAnt or can you choose?

I am a L&D nurse, considering finding a pt job in a private office. What is your hourly wage and where do you live? Thank you!

I'm sorry you are feeling this way about work! I did med/surg, mother-baby and then came to L&D. We are a level 2, and I've been doing this for 8 months. This is hands down the hardest job I've ever had. I can't imagine learning about baby, iv's, foley cath etc on top of labor. I know some people have came out of nursing school and did well in a specialty. This would not be me. I would give it a year, but maybe if youback tracked on a surgical floor or Mbu for awhile, you would find you still love L&D. It's hard, I feel for you! Don't give up, just look at other options,í ½í¸˜

I do network L & D, but mother-baby. I've heard the L&D nurses refer to their job as an ER for pregnant people.:). You have your triage rooms, and when things go bad, they go bad quickly. We have women brought in by ambulance. The pace would probably be different for you. When it is busy, it's busy, but sometimes you will watch the clock. You never know what will walk through the door.
