  1. It's different but they mainly use Riverview, Gadsden Regional & RMC in Anniston. You can make a request to be at one of those if it's close to your house but they don't always promise you'll be there & they definitely can't promise it for every semester. OB & PEDS is done at Gadsden, RMC & Marshall Medical.
  2. Just take it a semester at a time if you can! We had one girl taking AP2 during 1st semester, just struggled but she did it. Just had to take it at night, catch it online if you can! You'll make the right decision no matter what & once you get started you'll meet lots of people to help get you through it!
  3. For the 1st semester (depending on when you take Pharmacology, if you take before fall then this will really be your second semester, if that makes sense) you'll go about 3 days a week for class & lab, Mondays and Wednesdays were all day. Tuesday and Thursday are lab days (these are divided groups so you don't go both days) One class is a 10 week class so once that's over your load will lighten a lot. Add in clinicals & some weeks you'll go every day. Times were 8 am to about 3-330. Lab days were only 3 hours long. 2nd semester is 2 days a week. Monday, Wednesday. There are a few labs but you finish those up that semester. You'll have a test every Monday and every Wednesday. Then you'll have clinical mixed in. Times were 8-3. 3rd semester (I'm in now), you go Monday & Tuesday, half days (830-1230) with a test every Monday. This is the semester you'll do clinical at Children's in Birmingham. It's a lot of info in 1 semester! Each semester your amount of clinical days will grow in number & length. First semester the days are 6 hour days, second & third semester they are 8 hour days. (Except for peds, those are 6 hours) Hope this helps! I'd show a picture of my calendars but it would overwhelm you!
  4. Congrats to everyone that's gotten in so far! :) It's a journey!
  5. I don't know? I know they've changed some things around in our program, could be to make it better. You may luck up & find a carpool buddy! I did!
  6. I don't know anything about Jeff State but I'm in the program at Gadsden right now. I love it. The instructors are amazing, they work hard to make sure you understand procedures and are always there for you if you need to cry or vent or ask for advice. The pass rate for the GSCC students on the NCLEX is incredible. The program is hard but the instructors make it easier to deal with. Not sure how much that helps but it's something to go on! I understand wanting to be close, I live in Georgia so I drive an hour & a half to school. Just remember ... You can do anything for 2 years!
  7. Make sure that GNTC is accredited by the state. If they aren't, it will be very difficult for you to get your BSN or MSN. It's still a new program, although I haven't heard anything bad about it. I know GSCC offers scholarships but I'm not sure. That might be a good question for admissions. I'm paying out of pocket for everything.
  8. I finished working my job so I didn't take it in the summer, I still did well on it & the other two courses, one is only 10 weeks long, but it would have been a lot easier to do it before. When I applied I had missed the deadline for other schools in the area so Gadsden State was my only option. Luckily, I didn't have to stress about it. If you're waiting on the other college, you could not take pharmacology in the summer & see if you get in the school in Georgia. You could send your response back to Gadsden that you accept the position & then if you change your mind you can tell the nursing department. Gadsden State also sends letters to alternates so that would open a spot for someone else. Fall semester won't start until August. What school in Georgia did you apply at? I'm in Dallas so I'm around an hour & a half from Gadsden. Good thing is the time difference, especially in the mornings! There are options so don't feel overwhelmed about waiting for the other school in June!
  9. I love the program! It's been wonderful. All of the instructors are wonderful & very open if you have problems. If you get your acceptance letter, I would suggest taking Pharmacology in the summer so you don't have to take it in the fall. It's a pain but makes 1st semester so much harder with 3 classes. Make sure you attend class & take lots of notes!! Ask for help if you need it before you start struggling. If you have questions you can email me, text me or look me up on Facebook. I will help however I can. I had a friend in the class before me & without her, I wouldn't have made it this far. It helps to have someone ahead of you to answer your questions! :)
  10. Hey guys! I'm in the RN program at Gadsden State now. It was around this time last year they started sending emails out for us. I've heard through the grapevine they've spent the last week scoring & going through applications. Hopefully you'll know soon! Good luck to all of you!
  11. I got the call Monday! I'm in now. :) Whew. I picked up my packet & I missed orientation, I'm assuming. Did they say when the first day of school is? Also, is anyone else coming from the Dallas, Ga area?
  12. No because I live in Georgia & there were schools closer to me I could apply at for LPN. I had missed deadlines & some of the other school require something other than the TEAS & I had missed testing dates
  13. I got alternate so now I'm really wondering what my score was because I thought it was pretty high! Oh well, fingers crossed someone else's loss can be my gain! Congrats to you guys though!
  14. Just got an email saying it's going to take longer to score up all the applications. They will begin emailing decisions on May 27. The anticipation!!!!!
  15. Thank you!! It's just so unsettling to check emails all day long! Haha.
