  1. I got my first Moderna COVID vax dose yesterday, and I'm worried the person administering it used too short of an IM needle length, and injected it into my deltoid fat pad instead of muscle. I have a high BMI (though perhaps my upper arms aren't huge), and she used what I think was a 1". I had actually meant to request a 1.5 or 2" needle, but totally forgot in all the excitement! Ugh, now of course I'm just ruminating on whether the shot is wasted and I'll never reach max immunity. Any thoughts, comforting or otherwise? Obviously I'll ask for a longer needle for the next one, and I'm thinking that even with subq administration the vaccine would work somewhat... TBH I think a LOT of people use 1" needles for deltoid IMs unless the person is gigantic. I feel like nursing school oversimplifies what size needle to use, so people think deltoid=1", rather than assessing the person's size. Anyway, still kinda freaking out, though I suppose there isn't anything I can do to change it at this point... And of course I've spent most of the past 24 hours trying to measure my deltoid fat pad! Easier said than done. ?
  2. I am soooo hoping me find out by this Friday and don't have to make it through another weekend of waiting. I agree--waiting is the worst! I did not apply to the BSN program. Have you found out about that yet?
  3. I didn't ask when we'd find out, but another woman I know who interviewed said they told her the same thing--early April. The website says one to two weeks, so I'm assuming sometime next week. I do, however, get butterflies in my stomach every time I open my email.
  4. I felt pretty positive right after the interview, but since then have been second guessing my answers. I'm doing a good job of stopping myself from obsessing, though! Wow, I can't believe it's almost time to find out.
  5. So... How does everyone think their interviews went?
  6. And congratulations to both of you!
  7. I haven't heard anything either! Has anyone else?
  8. March 7th can't come fast enough for me. I am checking email compulsively anyway, in case they let us know earlier.
  9. Yep, I'm in MN now. So I imagine you applied to a bunch of schools throughout the country? I really only applied to this program; if I don't get in I'll do an associates program at my local community college.
  10. Hi CNMhopeful! I can't believe someone actually responded to my thread! Yeah, I think interviews are early March and acceptance emails are sent out late March. I'm so nervous about missing an email from them! Don't forget to check your spam folder! Did you/are you planning to apply to any other programs? Where have you been doings your prereqs? I got the 20% rate because they seem to get about 300 applicants and accept about 60. Maybe they'll start accepting more though.
  11. Hi all! Just curious if anyone out there just submitted an application for the University of Minnesota Master of Nursing program (Fall 2014 start)? I have been taking prerequisites for this program for years, and I cannot believe the time has finally come to put my hat in the ring. The program only has a 20% acceptance rate, so who knows... But I know I worked my butt off to become a good applicant. Very nerve wracking though. Anyone else going through the same waiting game?
