  1. Yep! I'm in the "hybrid" program. It sounds very convenient! The benefits are that you are not traveling anywhere for lectures. However - For clinical they will send you pretty much anywhere. They will say they take your geographical location into consideration, but that's not true. It's pretty much luck if you get somewhere that will take less than an hour to get to. You also have to go into Burlington every week for exams. Which for you - sounds like wouldn't be a big deal anyway since you are close. Labs are also in Burlington. I am actually close to the Northeastern Boston Campus which the labs originally took place - so I was disappointed when they moved them to Burlington. But again - that benefits those that are closer to Burlington. As far as the online lectures - Hopefully they get better at the organization. There tends to be a lot of mistakes and discrepancies between what is in the lectures and on exams. This is due mostly to the fact that the people who do the lectures are not the people who create the tests. It seems like there is a lack of organization with a lot of things. Some of the teachers are very nice and make great lectures, some.... not so much. Some teachers will also take days to respond to emails. I think if you are in Burlington that will help. It will also help if you go into the program knowing that it is sort of a mess at the moment. The program is new, but the problems they have should have been solved a long time ago. I have spoken with multiple people from prior cohorts that claim that the problems they complained about, never got fixed.
  2. I'm currently in the program. I know that no program is perfect, but it has been very stressful. I can't speak for everyone but a large amount of students are very disappointed with the way the program is currently run. Maybe they will figure things out and the cohorts going forward will have better experiences, but I feel as though people should be a lot more careful when looking into the program and ask a lot of questions!!!
  3. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to give a little info on Northeastern. As a warning, there are some positives but the program is extremely disorganized - to the point where you will be more stressed out regarding the actual administrative problems than the work itself. Considering the amount of money the program costs you are better off going somewhere else. Plus – as far as the NP part, there are no guarantees that you will be let in, even though they will tell you otherwise in order to get your business.
  4. Did anyone here decide on the Northeastern Fall Direct Entry? If so, are you going hybrid or traditional? I'd love to check in with others that are heading to the same program as I am!
  5. Boston is WAYYYY better than Philly! MGH is my vote!
  6. Hello! I just sent in my deposit to hold my spot for the May 2014 ABSN Program. I was originally on the waiting list, but received an email last week saying a few spots had opened up! I applied to a few other schools and got into some but due to some annoying setbacks at the other school I really wanted to go to (the school LOST my most recent pre-req transcript, one of my recommendation letters was submitted incorrectly) I have not gotten a decision back yet! I didn't want to give up the opportunity here so I sent in my deposit. MGH was my other top choice so I am plenty happy :) I was just wondering if anyone knows the next steps in the process and when I should expect a background check, when I should get a physical, and when I should hear back about my FAFSA. I submitted my FAFSA last week when I heard about my acceptance. Congrats to everyone and look forward to meeting y'all in May!!
  7. Yes! Thank you! I am also not checking (or at least not expecting to hear from them) until Friday. I hope we all get in after this!
  8. If they don't let us know today my email is going to take a restraining order out against me. :)
  9. I'm almost on the verge of having my boyfriend call and pretend to be someone else and ask for a specific timeline... But that might be a little too much... :)
  10. Hey everyone! Just found this and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one obsessively checking their email. I asked last week when they believe we would hear something and they replied "shortly" - which could mean anything. Hopefully we hear soon! Good luck to everyone!
