  1. Hi all, I have a few questions about the AFR. I have always wanted to be a flight nurse in the reserves. I have two children ages three and one. My husband is the breadwinner and we live very comfortably, allowing me to only work part time. I have 1 year ICU experience. I love my job but my thoughts of joining the reserves keep coming back! Are there any reserve flight nurses out there with little ones? Can you tell me what the experience is/was like for you, your kids, and your husband? What kind of hours do you work and how understanding are they in regard to family commitments? I have always worked night shift so my husband is very capable of caring for the kiddos on his own overnight or for a weekend. Plus, we have large, supportive families close by. Any other info you could give me about the reserves as a flight nurse would be much appreciated! I'm curious about pay, deployment, term commitments, benefits, etc. Thanks in advance!
