  1. my school offers pathophysiology which I will take in fall, I am trying to think of a class to take in the spring while I wait and take the teas next fall; possibly some class I may have to take for a BSN; I just don't want to sit around spring & summer; I would like to get rid of a class that doesn't have the NUR in front of the course. possibly a class someone has taken that they liked or helped them in the program or found was useful in the field
  2. I was relaying what many of the students had said about the TEAS test and the book. possibly some states follow more closely to the book than others; many of us commented on the fact the test was considerably harder than the book; had it followed the book the test wouldn't have been so difficult. as for retakes, NC has 2 retakes during the months it is given, but this is not the only criteria that determines getting into the program. I do realize every state has their own criteria which was explained by the dept head for the TEAS testing at our school. your advisor will know if your state will allow retakes or not & most prior test takers at your school will know if the test is close to the book or not. those of us who took it the 2nd time did much better. my suggestion is talk to the dept head who gives the TEAS test and no one else. otherwise it is like asking you what Iraq was like when you just watch the military channel. Army vet
  3. can i take a pharmacology class even if i am not yet in the RN program; if so where and how can i do this...
  4. I was not accepted 1st time; I had a TBI in the army but I am an A student partly b/c I work very hard. my classmates were very surprised I didn't get in b/c they know I good at what I do, but my pts were low. the board looks at pts not who you are; unfortunately that will never change; there is no experience like combat that will prepare you for the RN program. I did not tell them I had a TBI for fear of being judged; i will never give up, but can i ever get in.
  5. I recently took the TEAS test; my school suggested that I buy the AIT latest version. Pointless, not that it is bad that you do, be prepared that it is more college level testing than what the book is designed. Being that you are in college, every college should have a universal website for educational purposes. I live in NC so I have NCLive which gives access to libraries test etc. you can go there find health entrance exams, also use GRE testing. if you are not in NC most any state has their own college/library website. my school is only interested in English & math not grammar & science. never worry about the 1st time you take it, think of it as a practice exam you won't be so stressed. everything is hard if you are not prepared. --GRE testing would be more advisable.
