Sorry, I didn't even think of that!! So one of my friends is trying to talk me into taking travel assignments in FL first so I can choose and area that I really like. My Uncle who lives on Ana Maria Island said to look at Sarasota/Bradenton as well. There is actually a travel assignment in both towns! So I applied for my FL nursing license today!!! I'm confused about the continuing education though. Do I have to do a total of 24 hours each year or just the 2 hour prevention of medical errors CE? We aren't required by the state of MO to do CE for our license, so this is new to me. Is there a certain website I have to get it from, or any course titled "prevention of medical errors" for 2 CEU? Thanks!

Which hospital do you work at? How long have you worked there, and do you love it there? I feel like our hospital has been taken over by the Corporation that owns it, and now only cares about making a profit, and not about its employees. Things have gotten really bad lately, and we barely have enough staff to run our rooms each day. It's really sad because it used to be a great place to work. I am wondering if all hospitals are going to get more like this because of Obama Care, or if it's just the hospitals in this area??? Thanks so much for your advice! I am having so much fun looking, and I am so excited at the thought of being able to move this year!!!

Wow, even experienced nurses? I have heard both things that nurses either make much more there than MO and that they don't. We are looking at either Tampa or Melbourne area at this time. What part of FL do you live in?

I am looking to relocate to Florida, and I have recently found the cost of living to be much less expensive in the Melbourne area...does anybody have any experience with the hospitals in that area? Holmes Regional Medical Center, Palm Bay, Viera Hospital, Melbourne Medical Center. Also, I have 7 years of experience...just wondering about how much to expect to start at hourly....thanks for any help!!
